I played this when it came out on Android, it's been a while and I'm a fan of fantasy stuff, this game has a lot of replayability but... it's not suited for every audience, if you like story telling, or these kind of text games, or want to try and get full achievements, it's fun. Otherwise just keep looking for a different game

the game is quite short, 3 hours for one play through. ill have to play agine to get another ending, but still it leaves you wanting more out of the story you have been making. to me at lest, it fells like it just stoped out of the blue after a epic fight. but the story was good and i love the way everything was worded and narrated. for the games price and the length of one go, i think maybe you should get this one on sale (but still get it). keep in mind that this game has more then one ending. but sitll the story is short. if you like dragons you will like this.

Just finishes abruptly and promises a sequel. Thought I was buying a whole story, not just a brief and pointless teaser for one. Regret wasting my money. :(

A very short and dull game. Very boring. Annoyed that I can not keep the shield no matter what choice I make. Boring and short.

Choice of the Dragon is an entirely text-based Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game. While the writing and story are fairly good (I have not noticed any typos, the story was coherent), the lack of the save/load function offline and constant advertisements for the other games of the developer are significant enough to not recommend this.

When I first discovered Choice of Games in the early 2010s they weren't on Steam yet and their games were made for mobile and browser, and the first several were completely free on their website (they still are). I was new to interactive fiction and tore through them all. I adored Choice of Romance, greatly enjoyed Choice of Broadsides and Choice of Zombies, loved the preview of Heroes Rise when it came out, generally disliked Choice of the Vampire, and then there was this game that was just sort of... there. Choice of the Dragon was the first game ever produced by Choice of Games, way back in 2009. It is by far the shortest game in terms of word count at only about 30,000, and is also one of the most linear in the catalogue. This is even true compared to games released not long after it like the ones listed above, with only Choice of Broadsides being close (and even that is twice as long, and in my opinion is more engaging with stronger characterizations). Overall for what it is it's not a bad game and I enjoy it well enough, but it's simply too short and is overall too railroaded to be memorable. It feels like the first title that it is, with creators still trying to experiment and see what they can do, with relatively weak storytelling. It's not worth recommending at the current price, especially since you can literally go to their website and play the entire thing for free (though it might be slightly altered). I paid for this because I played it long ago and to support the publisher, who I love and want to keep producing more, but after replaying it fully and exploring every avenue I confirmed what my memory told me: that it's one of their weakest titles from the early years, and I don't see a reason why someone new needs to play it. It's better than Choice of the Vampire, but that's about it. Instead if you're new to Choice of Games I encourage you to try one of their more acclaimed titles like Choice of Robots, Choice of the Deathless, or Affairs of the Court. If you want to explore their early titles I think Broadsides and Zombies still hold up relatively well, and the aforementioned Affairs of the Court (the Choice of Romance trilogy) is still one of my favorites. Those are worth your money.

IMO this is the worst choice of the whatever game I've ever played. The game is short (no longer than 30 minutes for one play-through, and I'm not even a native English speaker so it takes me longer to read). The writing is bland and the characters are plain, like all in simply stereotypes. Princesses are scared, goblins are incompetent, other dragons are... really bad? Like playing D&D with a DM who has no imaginations, only randomly generating encounters and NPCs by rolling dice. And at least D&D has interesting combat system and player interactions. The story is not connected at all. The choices are forced and stupid, and it looks like a stat grab rather than leading the story meaningfully. Do you want to be cruel or be merciful? Do you want to die like a fool, or live cleverly? That's how choices were presented to me. Plain, simple, not making the story any more interesting (unless you found intentional dying interesting lol). Not to mention the stats are awkward. Like you can't be cunning and honorable at the same time, while not being cunning means being foolish in the game. So respecting others (like, allowing my goblins continue worshiping a god) makes me stupid. Makes little sense. Bad game with no good sides. Even if you really like choices games, I'd recommend skipping this one.

Far too short to be any fun. The characters are pretty much non existent only hanging around for a chapter or so and most don't even have names beyond their title. The princess you kidnap is called the Princess. The Queen of one of the kingdoms is called the Queen. A group of heroes tasked to kill you are simply called a group of heroes......and so on. Just plain lazy. The story jumps for chapter to chapter without any buildup or suspense. You basically make your dragon. Take over a couple of places. Learn for some odd reason a sorcerer wants you dead (this one actually has a name but unfortunately doesn't have much of a backstory and is around only for the final chapter). Kill the sorcerer or die trying. End. Very little effort went into this and it shows.

The game is too short and definitely not one of their best games. It requires stats in the 80s to do anything worthwhile and all the endings are pretty similar. Definitely pass on this one. I recommend Avatar of the Wolf and Werewolves of Haven. They're both much better stories.

This game is short, very short. In 25 minutes I completed two full games. I'm starting with this so all of you know what to expect. (I like to take it slow, and replay the game to see everything. So I would put 6 hours in this game but here it just means you wasted your time) It talks about kidnapping princes and princesses for a good conversation, to bait heroes or for a light snack. Be prepared to be disappointed as it's just a passing choice that says do you kidnap princes or princesses and why. Second time it's an option to kidnap one to bait heroes but there's not a lot of detail in there. Like most of the choices actually. It's more like a check list, we got princes in it? Check now let's move on to the next item. Mates? Lets randomly say you want a mate and search for it. Okay check, now you aren't interested in finding mates anymore so that's over. I personally haven't managed to convince a mate yet and have no clue how to do it. They weren't impressed by me being in their territory for example. Or had their own treasure hoard. Maybe I'll play a few times more to check up on the mate thing, but for now in both my stories it was a passing event that was never mentioned again. Now the temple thing, there's a choice to raid one temple and that's all I counted. Didn't do it cause money seems to be useless anyway. There were a few fights, but at the start I lost both times even if I fully focused on being good at fighting. The fight details aren't interesting, it's basically another passing event. Now there's money in there, but I haven't found a single use of it besides it having a stat. Overall I'd say it's an empty story with a big lack of details that tried to include everything good but didn't manage to excel at even one thing. If you want to spend 5$ on a few minutes of entertainment that might not even entertain you, go ahead. But I sure wouldn't recommend it as the price is too expensive for what you get.
