Great game, with simple battle system, simple story, but many digimon to be unlocked.

Good game, cyber sleuth is a big longer but you should play it first to see both sides of the story.Hacker memory is a great improvement, better story and better skills(when you play you will undestand),the bad thing is the grind so use a trainer or something to get exp fast(you can save scum until you get the exp+ from farms),also the drop rates for medals are a bit too low(trainer fix that too) but most of the medals are rng so good luck if you want to complete thoses.Played on hard until the last 2 chapters ,the game inst really hard until the end and poison is you best friend.

70% vn, 30% gameplay. I personally enjoy it a lot, and the story/writing/theme are interesting. It might not be for everyone though.

Gameplay is fun, story is okay. What made me enjoy the game less is how the story and conversation doesn't make sense because of bad translations. Many of DigiLines conversation/answers also confuses me. I do love the messages they're trying to send, but hopefully the next Digimon game, Digimon Story Time Stranger have better translation. Small things : Nokia... Her outfit is horrendous. She wear clothes like she's a grandma trying to stay hip with the youngster these days... TLDR: Great gameplay, Huge selection of Digimon, loveable characters (despite the design choice), fun missions ( other than the retrieve lost items...), Story and Digiline would be 8/10 if the translation isn't so bad.

The story isn't the best, and i seem to recall there being a scene that was really out of place. but overall it was still really enjoyable.

Because the natural instinct is to compare this game to the Persona franchise, it's worth noting that Persona is a LOT more interesting in gameplay mechanics, and the world feels a lot more realized. The dungeons are bare-bones, the battles are pretty repetitive, and the non-dungeon locations are boring. Digimon Cyber Sleuth feels like the Mac & Me to Persona's E.T. That being said, I love Mac & Me, it's a great popcorn movie to watch when I want something to zone out to. Digimon is, of course, super nostalgic for me, and that's part of the appeal of the game. It's fun leveling up my 'Mons in order to obtain some of my old favorites (like the Paildramon I just built a model of IRL), as well as discover some new ones (I've grown very fond of Sistermon Ciel's attack set). Plus, the process of strengthening your party and digivolving them feels a lot more equitable than the parallel process in Persona. I'm having a lot of fun playing this, so I can't complain. $50 is steep, but it's frequently on sale for dirt cheap, and it's worth the money at a lower price.

Definitely one of the best digimon story games, just wish you could transfer digimon between games without having to complete both

A great digimon game that lets you be tamer to several detailed digimons with various cool status and abilities in turn-based RPG form, but suffers from excess use of unnecessary unskippable dialogues which represent like 60%-70% of the game, that in turns kind of ruins the gameplay loop in my opinion. It's a decent game nonetheless but doesn't feel like a true Digimon experience in terms of taking care of your digimons and forming bonds with it and helping it evolve with time and care just like the anime experience
