I love it when the achievements don't function for games.
I have all them now, but half the time they were not tracking. swear i had to place like 600 buildings for the 300 building achievement.

At a discounted price, offers a fun distraction of a game. A few hours and you've completed the core objectives. The lasting enjoyment comes from designing the island (or additional ones). Good game for when you have a short window of time and need a break.

Great upgrade from the original Islander game. Your progress accelerates the longer you play, until you can build whatever you want and decorate your town without worrying about your income. Very enjoyable town-building sandbox. Very relaxed, and super simple to understand if you use the tutorial on your first time playing. 10/10 chill-out game.
Edit: There is a bug around the Nature Hater achievement where it doesn't count trees after the first island you start playing on. But if you're looking to get it, re-installing the game and clearing an island (4-5 times) will get the achievement.

If you played the previous version you know what to expect.
You have abit more to choose from this time however some parts are limited to 2 for the entire game while some items have 7+ to choose from.
You also are limited on your island size. Unlike the last game there is no way to build extra land which is a shame and limits my creativity for the island. Not sure why they got rid of it, would of been nice to make your own island or make it bigger from the selection you get to choose from at the start.
It doesn't have much new stuff added in it to be worth full price in my opinion, wait for a sale otherwise get the first game and enjoy abit more freedom with less fancy tiles to choose from.

This isn't a bad game but after just a couple of hours of regular-play you will have unlocked all the content. For the creative types there's a few more hours of fun in free-play mode in which everything is available from the start so you can design your islands with no restrictions. There are 7 achievements which are fairly easy to get.
Not a lot of content but if designing island towns is your thing you'll definitely get some fun out of this.
Recommended but maybe wait for a sale.

➕ Custom buildings.
➕ Gorgeous graphics and atmosphere.
➖ Very slow, a lot of waiting.
➖ Limited tutorial.
➖ Ultimately no goal except to fill your island.
👎 Nah. Honestly, it’s not a bad game, but it’s not a good game, either. It’s just boring.
I like relaxing city builders as much as the next guy, but there has to be something to do aside from just waiting for money to drop and level you up.

This was an incredible cozy relaxing game, it's more idle and decorating than anything. It is NOT a management game, and anyone who purchase it thinking it is is going to be very disappointed.
I'm disappointed the developers don't got a slew of games just like this but in different themes.
I want more!

I bought his game because of the beautiful pixel graphics not expecting some suprisingly assortment of prop decorations you can place in the game. To my suprise this game caught me off guard being the must laidback casual sandbox city builder steam has on their games list. It has become one of my favorite games. The only thing i would say bad about it is I hope the devs and makers of the game read the comments that additional content would be excellent as this game has a lot of potential! The great part of this game is its your own pace, dont worry about stressing out about anything "expiring" or "collecting" in time, just sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful feeling of a stardew valley/sim farm game remixed :D
Summary of the game
PROS:
- 16 bit graphics <3 (this game will run on the lowest of machines)
- Stardew Valley/Sim Farm/Farmville/Forager type game
- Very easy to master no tutorial needed
- Casual sandbox type game so no risks or "expiration" / "collecting" etc. just sit back and relax!
CONS:
- Linear game (not for everyone) no real misions just max build until you run out of space
- Lack of maps (Only 6) PLEASE ADD MORE
- Not enough ploppable content when max lvl reached ( PLEASE ADD MORE CONTENT OR STEAM WORKSHOP THIS GAME HAS MASSIVE POTENTIAL :) )
Overall 4/5

* Variety of decorations, crops, paths ...
* Play in short bursts
* City Management
* Awesome pixel graphics
* Extremely addictive progression
* Perfect for casual
* Affordable price
WHAT IS BAD
I liked the systematic a lot, but I wish it was possible to decorate the houses inside too = /. You can customize the houses, but following the upgrade pattern.

The Islander looked like it would be a fun island management game. Unfortunately, that wasn't what I got in the end. This is a game with a lot of promise that, I'm hoping, in time can deliver, but for now falls far short.
The positive:
This game is gorgeous. I definitely like the look of the game and I've seen some very creative layouts from other players. This is by far the best feature to the game.
The mediocre:
Aspects of the interface seem clunky. If I decide I want to move where I have a garden of flowers, I have to manually select each and every flower one at a time and move them. As the game progresses and you unlock new styles of roads, you can't replace them. Instead, you have to go through and delete every single old style road that you want and then place down the replacement role. It isn't a big issue, but they are features I'd love to see implemented.
The negative:
This is where I think the game can get better in time. The game is honestly quite boring. At times, it feels more like an idle game. I wanted to give this game a fair shake, so I'm trying to play long enough to get all of the achievements. To do this, I'm letting the game run in my background right now to earn the capital I need to build more buildings. And that's the thing about this game, to advance and unlock you need to simply earn money. That means all you need is one House and time and you've advanced as far as the game can go. There is no challenge beyond waiting for time to pass. Sure, you can up your infrastructure, nature, or another category to increase your income rate, but all it does is speed up the process. And, that gets old pretty quickly.
