Fun game, I think it could use a little more content like a hot bar to see how many weapons you get with each class. Would recommend

I liked the vibes of this game, it reminded me of Skyrim and other games I used to play when I was younger. A really specific detail, but I liked that the primary armour in this game was the gambinson. While widely used in the medieval era, it is often underrepresented in media and it was cool to see it in this game. The dev put out a roadmap and it looks like there are a lot of cool things to be released.

This is not even a game, it would not be worth 1€ yet it costs 9... Buttons don't work, text is glitched "fights" are always the same 2 animations.

This game is fun if you want to kill some time. This game is fun but is short on content, but I know the dev is adding to the game so there is more things coming in the future. It's fun to just turn off your brain for a few minutes and take peoples heads off. I would recommend this game.

"Tournament: Blood & Steel" is not a game you'd expect to cost as much as it does. Frankly it's barely a game at all. And it has quite the interesting history. The game was originally released in July 2019 into Early Access and only got a handful of updates until it was finally forgotten. Fast forward to August 2022 where the game resurfaced in it's original Early Access form but as a regular release. According to SteamDB nothing was changed and the roadmap (linked in-game) shows the last updates from 2019. Let me reiterate: this is exactly the same version as back in Early Access. Nothing was changed to make this a full release, even the copyright still says 2018. And there's hardly anything there to warrant the rather high price tag of $9.99 either. You can play through the entire content - three single-opponent arena fights and another mode that's you with some AI versus two enemies - within a few minutes. That's it. That's all there is to it. Now the store page talks of being able to buy different gear for your gladiator and while that's true the options are a bit lacking. The choices? Several different looking helmets with identical stats as well as a tougher set of body armor. You might as well not bother with that because the opponent AI is beyond stupid. As long as you keep blocking with your shield when they try to attack you and retaliate with the sword while they recover you're golden. There's no stamina required to block so you can just do it all day long. And in the fight with AI they'll just focus on them while you hit them. That's not the only problem this game has. Controls can't be customized or even looked up so unless you happen to read the loading screen tip telling you to select weapons using the mouse wheel (or you figure it out yourself) tough luck. While the game does feature graphics options they don't seem to work properly as it tends to go to windowed mode despite selecting full screen and also randomly lowers graphics quality settings. The Unity launcher window also offers graphics settings which occasionally work but don't stick. The scene lighting seems to change at random as well. As an added bonus there's a FreeSound.org sound file used which is licensed under CC-BY 4.0 but not credited which is a license violation. All in all it's a half-baked mess of a game that should never have left Early Access in this clearly unfinished state. The price tag is a complete joke and doesn't reflect the quality nor quantity offered at all.
