A very easy but lots of fun platformer in a similar style to Super Mario 3D World. The gameplay has 2D levels, 3D levels, auto-runner levels, and various puzzle levels. You have to collect pages of a magic book in this game (much like 3D Mario’s Stars and Shines). Each level usually has a page for collecting 300 coins, for finding the LUCKY letters (think the KONG letters in Donkey Kong Country) and a hidden page in addition to the main page of that level. You can usually do all four on the same run for a satisfying completion. The level design is excellent and they’re usually very creative and fun levels. Sometimes the NPCs talk too much when the level starts. This isn’t an RPG. Sorry, but I don’t really care too much about some bunny telling me his life’s story, I just wanna keep playing the game. Speaking of story, it’s simple enough. It’s told through some super cringe furry art cutscenes that are at least well voice acted. The art definitely leans into the “furry” category and not “fun animal game”, if you know what I mean. Tunic is a good example of a cute fox character. Lucky here manages to make me feel uncomfortable as an avid furry hater. Still, it’s not that bad, and a lot of the designs for NPCs and animals are properly cute. The music is also decent. There are some catchy tunes that got stuck in my head. The graphics also look great and perform smoothly on both my laptop and Steam Deck. It’s overall an excellent game. Will there be a sequel? Seems like it was teased to me. I think I’ll buy it as I had a good time with this game. Just improve the art a little bit please.
