I want to love this game but dear lord the controls wreck the whole thing. It is virtually unplayable and infuriating.

Chromosome Evil is a great game for the money. with great gameplay and Mysteries to discover. and the developers did a great job with communication with the consumer. as you can ask them questions directly on their Discord.
the only real complaints I have which have probably been fixed in the sequel. (I have yet to play it as I do not own it yet I have to wait until my next paycheck.) is the weapons and customization DLC is not integrated into the main game in a standard way. and multi-character passing can be a little janky. as the soldiers in the rear will not move if they do not have a path to get there. even if they are headed in the same location. this is especially problematic in hallways particularly one person thick hallways.
I don't really have any other complaints and I cannot wait to play the sequel

Graphics are 16 bit, as you can see -- but don't let that fool you, this game has more personality than games with a lot more shine in the graphics department. Atmosphere is very gritty and you really get the sense of fighting against hopeless odds. character and equipment development is both simple and worthwhile, provoking meaningful choices. Fun achievement system that effects future playthroughs. Constantly tests your wits with staying for more loot or pulling out before it's too late, and the game has a lot of depth for being so simple (but elegant!) I just played through to the end of my first playthrough which took 17 hours more or less and got a horrifying ending. I'm looking forward to eventually getting the best ending!
Highly recommended.
