Im sorry dude. It hard for me to give a negative vote to an indie game, but holy crap! This is terrible! You can start a freaking game on a locked scenario by CHAINS... and have to solve 3 puzzles with codes and note, walking one way to the other with the worst animation of waking i have ever seen in my life! Whats with the arms movement?! Whats going on with her legs?! Why she makes 3 step but move only 1? The floor is jelly? Jesus man! Fix this and i will buy it again. Im refounding, sorry. This is not playable. Pissed me off.

A short (about 3 hours for the main campaign on a first playthrough,) but fun survival horror game of the classic variety. A bit on the easy side so I highly recommend cranking up the difficulty. Normal mode in this is easier than easy mode is in the rest of the series.

If you played RE, Silent Hill, Dino Crisis... and enjoyed them, this saga is a love letter to them. Of course, the project is created by a single person, and you probably should take it into account when playing these games. Don´t expect AAA graphics or animations, cause you are going to refund them if you do so. So, speaking about Outbreak: Lost Hope: The game is a clear evolution from the other developer games. Animations and graphics are still out of date, but the atmosphere is huge compared to the previous titles. The mosters are the very similar to the bestiary of RE saga, but with one or two very interesting aditions. If there is something better done than the games in which this saga is influenced are their puzzles. You must read every note in the game because the solution to the puzzles is willing to be there. It´s fun as well discovering the story reading the notes, like in the 80s classics. Now the weapons are perfect. This is something I didn´t appreciate about other titles in the saga. The weapons didn´t feel like a weapon, because of the animations. Now you can feel the power once you take a shotgun and use it. Very good job improving this, something where the saga was a little bit weak. I recommend this title, and if you enjoy it, make a try in Outbreak: Epidemic as well. I thing this two are the best of the saga. But is just my opinion. Take care!

If you're a huge Resident Evil fan, and you're just craving more of that RE-style gameplay and setting, and you don't mind playing something with a much, much lower budget by a solo indie developer, and you can deal with occasional jankiness and weaker graphics/aesthetic, then this game should be worth your time. This particular entry in this series uses an over-the-shoulder camera view, so if you liked RE 4-6 and the 2 and 3 remakes, this will provide similar gameplay. And considering the type of budget indie Unity asset-flip game this is, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how well the text and story in the game were written. I was expecting much worse. I will continue to check out more entries in this series now.

In the 4th installment in the Outbreak series the dev has done a good job of evolving the game on many levels. They seem to be on the right road of many good devs in that they are obviously using their money to further their game creation abilities as well as improving the games themselves, be it graphics, mechanics, engines, assets, story and overall gameplay. (though I'm not interested in F2p games so I'm not sure i'll be playing the next one). This however, as with the previous 3 is quite a nice and fun homage to the Resident Evil genre. The whole series so far has been certainly worth any money I've paid for them and I look forward to this developers continued evolution of both himself and his games. If you are into this genre this game, and the series in general, is certainly worth a spot in your libraries.

Absolutely great game - all those positive reviews are definetely not trolling you - you can trust them the game is a polished AAA game that will put Resident Evil series to shame there is an amazing variety of zombies in this game - one male and one female and... ummm yeah that is it - just two skins... so yes it will amaze you and make your jaw drop to the ground you will love every second of this 3 hour experience that could easily take 2 hours or even 1 hour if it wasnt artificialy streched out and make you run from one end of the map back to the other end. It is definetely not some shameful attempt to mask just how utterly short this thing is - it is a trippe A game design that other major developers should learn from Also - it would be the best thing if this game would last only 1 hour but then you could just refund it and we just cant have that The game was made by one dude so I shouldnt be hard on his work - that is what I thought when I was pressing Quit and preparing to write a positive review saying how it is a clunky little game that is an admirable attempt by a solo developer to create an indie Resident Evil-like game I was like - ok for 1$ you can treat it as a guilty pleasure but then I looked at the price tag and how much he is charging for this piece of crap and I was "F**k me - you have to be f**king kidding me dude" I had to go back and check how much I paid for it but luckly I bought at 90% discount and I strongly recommend that you dont even buy it then if you want a good Resident Evil clone from indie developer then play Daymare instead of just stick with the RE games if you value your time

If you don't mind games that you have to restart back from the beginning because you get into a impossible situation with no ammo or health, then this is your game.

Pretty mediocre survival horror game. -cheap -low fov and weird perspective -performance quite weak especially for those graphics -extremly low stamina -you can't kill enemies with the pistol or the smg, only knock them down for a really short time, only shotgun, magunm (and grenade launcher) can actually kill which is a really dumb concept. You do get a lot of ammo for the pistol (at least on easy) but its kinda useless as you cant kill with it. I'd rather get less ammo but then can actually kill enemies. -item box and "save station" are often not in the same room and they aren't enough of them which makes you backtrack quite a lot -gun play is mediocre at best and aiming is very inprecise with the laser

The Outbreak series continues to reinvent itself, as Lost Hope takes on a new engine and point of view. You are now in an over the shoulder perspective, allowing for more immersion and action-oriented skill based shooting. Lost Hope starts in a rainy outdoor area, playing as a mother looking for her child named... Hope. You start with no weapons, which is a good touch over the last games. Also added, there's no standard flashlight. So, you are defenseless, and can't see. Great! You must solve a few puzzles while dodging zombies to finally arm yourself. You'll notice that while the movement and gameplay is a lot more fluid and smooth, there is no sprint button. You still move faster than the regular zombies, but you really need to plan your routes or you'll get overwhelmed. Zombies can be lost if you get a certain distance away from them, at which point they'll shimmy back to their starting position. Little iffy on this mechanic; think they should just stay where they are when you lose them, but a minor detail The flashlight also follows the weapon, which seems to be a lost art nowadays in video games. So you are much better moving while aiming most of the time, especially with bigger arms like the shotgun and submachine gun, which aren't held in an offensive position when not aiming. The pistol is held forward when not aiming, but not exactly center on the screen. I find myself moving while aiming most of the game, which certainly builds a level of tension One thing that's interesting, is the game has a bunch of chests around your main campsite, that can be opened in any order with a common key (one use per key). This can allow the player to have a lot of different loadouts; you can choose between guns, ammo, healing items, or inventory pouches. This is a pretty neat mechanic The zombie combat has also been over-hauled. After taking damage from melee or low caliber pistols, the zombie will fall down, but not die. You can then scamper on by, or crouch down and finish it off with the knife. Ammo is not very plentiful, so you have to choose wisely here. Conversely, you can also get knocked down yourself. This can be especially bad if you try to take on multiple threats. While many games try to stress one on one combat, this game really punishes you if you're careless. All in all, this game takes the Nightmare Chronicles formula, expands on it with a new engine, and just makes it better. It's pretty amazing the dedication to his games this developer has. While this game in particular doesn't have MP, it's been stated that one will be worked on next. Pretty exciting! Overall score: 80/100
