4X for people in a hurry
For $2, In less than 10 hours, I completed a dozen or more satisfying 4X campaigns, using nine races that all felt distinct.
The complaints about this game are valid: the single-click interface seems touchscreen-optimized, some information could be better complained to the player, and the game isn't completely stable (I experienced one CTD in my time playing). And, yes, RNG might necessitate a seed re-roll, but that's hard to be mad about if you've only lost ten minutes by the time you recognize the problem.
However, all of the decisions you make in this game are fundamentally 4X. Do I expand and stretch myself thin, or make my existing domain more robust? Do I build out my military to earn points through combat, or just double-down on research to earn points through completing the tech tree? Mini Gal4Xy delivers the 4X experience in a bite-sized package, without the accompanying feeling that you're missing out on the "real" game because you don't have the time for or interest in devoting weeks or months of your life to hundreds of hours of a marathon campaign.
I wish there were more games like this.

I saw this game as a post on reddit... I don't think it was even promoted, it was a small post for a small game. So when I had an extra $15 bucks to spend on Steam, I bought this game alongside of 'Agony Unrated', I think they compliment each other. It's a game I can feel good about owning (this one), knowing that the developer is putting in an honest attempt and effort in making the most interesting and creative 4X as possible. It's an ethically and locally sourced 4X game, free of antibiotics and GMOs.

Had a lot of fun with this game. Each species plays very differently, and each game session goes by quickly.
Time tends to pass quickly when you play this game too. The One More Turn is strong with this game.
It hasn't got a huge amount of staying power, but randomized maps and tech trees keep it fresh for awhile. Still, for the price, it's a damn good bargain.

Note for Linux users: This game is listed as supporting Linux, but the native version did not work for me and crashed my xsession (Mint 19.3, kernel version 5.0.0-37, NVIDIA GeForce 940M, official NVIDIA driver version 435.21). However, I forced it to use the Windows version with Proton 4.11, and everything worked fine.
This is a cool game. It basically is about playing through very short, heavily randomized strategy game sessions. After each session, you unlock new features, playable races, etc. which you can use in the next session. This makes the game highly replayable, and the 4x-lite approach (where you can play through entire games in 10-20 minutes) is fun and enjoyable. If you are looking for a very challenging strategy game, this is probably not for you, as it is quite easy. However, if you like the formula the game is based on, it will provide you with a good deal of enjoyment.
All in all, I give this game a solid 8/10. There is room for more content, so I hope the developers continue working on it.

A simple bite-sized 4X game. It's cute, relaxing, and quick. Games don't last very long, so you're able to achieve a full playthrough in one sitting.
The UI could be better. That's about it.
For its price, it delivers. Especially if you're looking for a 4x-quick fix.

Neat and fast paced game with no technical issues. But it's not a 4X.
It's more of a sandbox puzzle where you try to get as high score as possible. It's also quite frustrating. Everything is against you, there are a few resources, everything takes a good deal of research and resources to pull off, action points are scarce, and there is a clock (turn limit) that ends your game just when it becomes good. Shame, it has so many nice ideas that I'd like to see in the classical 4X where you compete against AIs instead of the clock. The way resources and planet development works is brilliant, the randomized tech tree is actually great, race variety is brilliant. If only...
The way it is, the game is forcing you to replay it in order to get good RNG rolls for 3 stars per race. Obviously mobile 1st interface is not helping. Buttons are comically large, mouse cursor even more so. There are no tooltips (you can't do that on mobile, LOL) and there are places that sorely need them. Tutorial could do a better job of explaining how to initiate combat, it left me with an impression that it happens automatically and the "vs" image in the middle is not looking like a clickable button.

I was thinking to myself "What is to MOO and Gal Civ as Polytopia is to Civ?" This is the closest thing to that that I've found, a space 4x that doesn't make my eardrums bleed with complexity. I'd much rather play a game with a short session length over and over, getting better and expanding more options as I go, than an epic campaign that takes days to complete.

I'll try to keep it short as Mini Gal4Xy is. This game is a distilled 4X Strategy Game made with its base parts. It shows you a standard eXplore, eXpand, eXploit & eXterminate experience. The difference though is that this isn't a multiplayer game making it a solitary experience.
This game is an arcade style with score building and randomness similar to Roguelikes. The reasons I give this game a positive review is that it is simple to learn. Which makes it a decent learning tool for those that don't know how to play or feel overwhelmed with other games of this genre. Think of it as a primer for people who want to understand the core parts of a 4X game. You use it before introducing the complicated stuff. Another reason, is that it has most faction arch-types distilled into it. A small, but welcomed positive.
Flaws:
*This is not made to be multiplayer, even though it feels like it could be.
*It's arcade style has no ranking system, not even a built in one for local players.
*Not much replay value aside from using it to teach new 4X players.
*It takes luck & patience if you aim to get all achievements. (Don't worry about giving up, it's just for vanity.)

This is a good, fast paced, easy to learn game. If you like the 4x type of games but don't have 10 hours to sit and play one this is a good alternative I managed to complete 6 games and the tutorial in about an hour. Initially games are limited to 20 turns and don't take very long to play through which is something that I enjoyed about it. I unlocked the 25 turn game on my 5th game and played it on my 6th. I managed to so far unlock 3 other races, beside the starting race, and each of them play very differently. I can see this game has a lot of replayability as each time I started a new game it was vastly different having randomised planet layout and research trees. All in all I think this is a great game if you don't have enough hours in the day for the more complex 4x games or if you just want to relax and not overthink things.

There are a few minor things that hold me back from recommending this game, ultimately. The game UI is entirely a single-click interface, which is common for games designed for mobile devices, but it keeps the player from seeing vital information with mouse-overs or easily closing menus. This lack of on-screen information is a big drawback. For example, not noticing that a planet is ready to be colonized can be costly.
The game starts off nicely with a simple tutorial, but the information misses the heart of the game, which is collecting 3 of 3 "stars" for each racial faction. After the first few unlocks, it becomes difficult to figure out how to accomplish this goal to progress, with little information on collecting enough points. And with few turns to operate, having a random tech-tree can make it impossible to reach the goal.
I clicked through the galaxy on an ubuntu linux desktop, with radeon mesa graphic drivers. This game uses the Unity game engine, and it requires 180 MBs of diskspace.
