As a child of playstation I did not have the chance to play it when it came out, and then I missed on the PS1 port. I finally decided to take the time to get into it. Game is quite grindy because of how spells and weapons work, or at least it is for me, but I am clearly too overpowered for when I am. The real seller is the story. Grandia writing is fantastic, the sense of adventure it gives made me so nostalgic. Especially in recent years where I have seriously struggled to find a modern RPG that gripped me, this is all that I have been missing from that 5th console generation RPG era.

Great game with a great soundtrack. The story, characters and the adventure theme/world are fun and so is the combat despite being way too easy. English voice acting is pretty bad but most of it isnt voiced anyway or you can choose japanese instead. The remaster also ruined some of the pixel art but I still recommend it overall.

I wanted a short JRPG with a nice focus on romance. It ended up being a LONG ass JRPG with only two snippets of romance scenes but I did not expect such a fantastic story, music and world.. also this game can be DIFFICULT (tho I did destroy that final boss). I was captivated despite going into this game with a different vision for it. This is the only game I have ever played that truly made me feel like I was on a real adventure. 8.7/10 -- some of the areas are just annoying to navigate and the optional dungeon (Tower of Temptation) was so horrendously bad design-wise that it was the first time in gaming I decided to just not do it. Using an online map didn't help. I would have liked a mini-map. The bosses aren't super memorable and the Final Boss was a bit lacking. Everything else was exceptional otherwise: Story, Combat, Music, Character Development, World and more. I also really loved the MC. *I did take into consideration that this game was made in 1997 while writing this* EDIT: After some time, this game still sits in my mind and heart. I just love that music and sense of adventure I had with this game and I really miss Justin and Feena.
