The game has zero to do with it’s namesake.
90% of the game is go from a to b.
You are getting next to nothing to do with animals. (most of the game is running, running, delivery egg, milk eg, and talking about a wolf (wolf quest make you run from one end of the map to other end just to “see” a thing)
I’m really disappointed in this game..

I was looking forward to this game because I was feeling nostalgic for the old style veterinarian games. What a disappointment. The quests are pretty repetitive and almost all the "fetch" type. Meh.

The devs have apparently never seen an American farm or talked to a real vet. The hillbilly music playing constantly in the background isn't bad, per se (it's pretty good, for what it is), but I don't particularly like that style of music. And not everyone who lives in the country is a hillbilly, for gods sake. So why that music? If they added some alternate tracks, I'd be okay with it.
But the main problem is that it's goofy. No vet would send an intern to scrounge around in the forest for "healing herbs" (which he can't even identify) or let him be sidetracked into becoming a delivery boy for the local farmers. He's ON THE CLOCK. Not to mention the fact that farmers don't generally leave clumps of goat cheese and bottles of milk just lying around the farm to collect later.
After a very short time, I found myself waiting for actual veterinary tasks and dreading having to repeat the silly side quests. It was boring. And one of the side quests was so broken, it just shut down the game. I picked up the last bottle of milk and it said, "I've delivered all the milk," which I hadn't. Worse, I couldn't move. I eventually just exited.
If the game was fun and I felt like I was actually being a vet - or even a game vet - I wouldn't have minded that one glitch, but I'm really not having fun.

This game has major old school Sims vibes. Like the kind I used to play on the gameboy. No, it isn't solely vet stuff, and I think the extra voluntary missions make this game charming and enjoyable. If you ever get bored doing vet stuff, you can feed some fish, help farmer Harris, or look for hidden puzzle pieces. The tutorial was fun, and I enjoy the quest-based style of this game. If you're looking for something chill that has a lot of charm, this game is great. There are obviously some bugs that could be worked out, but that's to be expected.

Animal Doctor is a game, kind of.
Mostly it's a walking simulator. You pick something up, walk from point A to point B, where you click a button or two and then move on to the next 'quests' and that's most of what you will be doing. There is no depth, no interesting characters or game-play, just poorly rendered animals and running around with stuff to put on those animals.
Pros
- Nice open area
- village is kinda nice
- Some horseback riding
- Some funny quests (gotta pick up chicken poop. Got a chuckle out of me)
- Interesting to learn all the facts about the animals
Cons
- It's a fetch-run-drop-repeat game.
- Traveling is a chore (places are too far apart), even with the horse.
- you're mostly going to be travelling from one point to another.
- there is no real game-play
- poor graphics and animals
- voice acting can be terrible at times
- the horseback riding is kind of terrible
- 'Side quests' are tedious chores with no depth
- Some quests make no sense (farmer asks you to deliver cheese, but first you have to pick up the cheese off the ground)
The game needs a complete overhaul if it wants to be even close to a 'good' game.

the game isn't bad but its nothing like a real vet intern or vet office, its more like running around doing activities that deal with animals. I expected it to be a vet office that you preform surgeries and diagnose animals and be a little realistic.

I thought that game would be an opportunity to own the clinic, but the game is nothing but a fetch quest fest.
Do not buy this.

Sometimes you see a game title, the pictures, videos and then you have expectations.
Sometimes it wouldn't be wrong to read the accompanying text carefully.
That might avoid some misunderstandings.
Like here.
Welcome to ANIMAL DOCTOR!
I think most (not all) negative Reviews are based on misunderstandings.
Well, i feel a little bit sorry for these little and casual Game.
Sure, it is not perfect, but i think it didn´t deserve this negative state.
No, I don't criticize the negative reviews, I accept the opinions. It would be boring if we all had the same opinion.
So, let´s have a look at ANIMAL DOCTOR!
The game clearly describes itself as a family game, which means that it is made especially for the younger ones.
From my experience, younger people want to discover, explore, have fun.
And that´s what they get here.

The game description clearly states that you are a Trainee of a veterinarian and NOT a veterinarian.
And that is what you do in this Game.
You go from A to B to get something for C and so on.
You have main Tasks and secondary Tasks, that can be repeated for more experience or just for fun.
ANIMAL DOCTOR has a really, really wonderfull Map you´re playing on, where you can see where your 13 GBs are.
Everything looks real and i felt very comfortable in this Map.
Remembered me of my Childhood.
That goes also for the nice Music.

As i said before, this Game is for a younger Audience and therefore it works.
Very easy instructions to follow and a very good made Map making this Game very easy.
Maybe too easy for Adults like me, but sometimes a Game in an "ideal" World makes you forgetting the real World and if it is
just for a short time. Nothing to puzzle, nothing to think about, nothing with fast reflexes, just chilling.
I understand that it is annoying for most of the negative reviews just to walk from A to B and then to C, just to return to A, that is about over 90%
of the Game, but don´t forget, this Game is at first for Childs.
They might have more fun with this, because while doing these Tasks they can explore the whole Map. There are Animals everywhere
and they can find 50 Pieces of a Picture that need to be restored. In the Middle of the Game you will get a Horse, so you can do it then
by feet or by Horse.

There are also very easy Achievements, that goes also for the 50 Pieces One, because all Pieces are on the ways of the Tasks.
I also repeated about 7 Tasks for experience to reach the Level 30 Achivo, but that wasn´t much time.
In the End, everything what the Games Descriptions shows, is in the Game. Nothing more, nothing less.
I played this Game while watching a TV Series, a little bit Multitasking, and enjoyed it.
What i can say, the Devs put much love into it and that goes also for the Digital Supporter Pack with a little Interview and other Goodies.
And i love the nice made Game Ending which is one last Task. Nice done.
So, if you want very much action, you want to blast your Brain Cells with hard Puzzles, you want to build a big Animal Hospital,
then THIS IS NOT NOT NOT FOR YOU!!!
If you want something very chilling, family friendly, easy 100% Achievements, a little bit ideal World Feeling, then this is for you.
Thank you for Reading. :-)

I returned the game. Unfortunately it was not what I expected it to be. I thought it was going to be more like you would run a clinic, diagnosis patients, and treat them. You would also take care of inpatients. This game was more like go here and grab this and then do this then eventually "administer medication" per a veterinarian's instruction. I personally did not like the extra chores of delivering cheese and feed a river with fish in it and such. I just wanted to run a vet clinic type game. This coming from a vet tech in real life. :p
