^^I purchased this game, with my very own monies^^
Seed of Life is an action adventure puzzle game. I found that the story and worldbuilding drew me right in. An alien world that has been desolated and is falling apart. A Protagonist that is one of only two people that we know of.
The voice of Cora was very intriguing. To start with her voice is very emotionless, worn down ready to give up. I get the feeling that we don’t know how long she has been alone, or how long the planet has been falling apart. As the game progresses along you can hear more emotion come into her voice, as she regains hope, and starts to believe that the planet can be saved. Point being I believe that this was an artistic choice by the game developers to have her acted in this way.
The puzzles in the game had some challenge to them, but most of them could be solved quickly. This ramped up well as I got stuck on two puzzles later in the game. One was a platformer puzzle over lava, and the other was a bunch of the shadow enemies patrolling. This game does not hold your hand as far as where to go or what to do, you’ll have to figure it out, and carve your own path. This can be frustrating when you know you need to use a new capsule ability, but don’t know how to use it.
I hated the checkpoint system at first. I felt totally tethered to them, and all exploration was closed off. As you unlock the abilities you gain more and more range. By the time you get to the final zone you won’t even notice the checkpoints anymore.
The length of the game felt short for $20, I completed the story with 3.4 hours of playtime. I am missing 3 achievements, and those could probably be finished in another hour. The ending also leaves more questions, and a feeling that the game hasn’t really ended.
I would give it a rating of 3/5 I think the worldbuilding, style, and voice acting is worth checking out. Loss of points for a low hours to price ratio, puzzle challenge, and lackluster ending. If you enjoy story driven puzzle games it is worth checking out.
I also have a Let’s Play on my youtube channel, all episodes are out now.

A game that actively fought any fun or sense of exploration to be found with a tedious survival mechanic and terrible platforming. Playing a game where your character is constantly drowning just isn't fun for me. Graphically, it's pretty but that wasn't enough to keep me playing.

Indie game with pretty graphics, and some interesting survival mechanics. I would've like more story bits throughout the level, because the lore is one of the best aspects of the game.

Unfortunately it's unplayble on my System, the mouse speed is way too low no matter which mouse speed i choose inside the game menu or inside my mouse driver (even 3200 dpi and a polling rate at 1000hz does it make not realy better). Furthermore the gameplay feels not smooth with a Radeon RX 6600, although frames are at 90 fps. Avoid these game if you don't like the Unity-engine. Seems to be another game without quality testing on different systems.

After completing the game 100%, I'd like to give a review that will hopefully be beneficial to both the game devs and the potential buyers. First and foremost, I give the game a 6/10 and here's why.
1. The game is lacking. While some of the later sections have some decent puzzle mechanics, most of the game doesn't have much in the way of puzzles. The platforming has some potential, but lacks the polish to make it a notable indie game. As of now, I barely see a reason as to why it is considered action.
2. The game's visual and auditory assets are above average. As such, there are a few minor cosmetic glitches that can happen to the main character at various times (though most people won't encounter them). The Sound Effects are also reasonably well-made. They are fitting and decently impressive. These 2 aspects are the saving grace of the game.
3. This game has potential that unfortunately doesn't seem used. I can see some very interesting puzzles that the devs could implement using the
magnet and gravity control thingy
, but unfortunately the main focus of the game seems to be the sprint mechanic. After completing the first area and acquiring the first 3 abilities, the game tends to lean on the sprint feature throughout the rest of the game (which isn't a problem), but seeing as you have several other skills available later on, I feel like they could have done much more with this game in the way of puzzles.
4. Voice acting: where to begin.... It isn't bad at first, but then the monotone voice that stays the same throughout the rest of the game feels very lackluster. I don't want to spoil anything, but none of the characters seem to exhibit any emotion throughout the majority of the game.
5. Sprinting: the not game-breaking mechanic that kind of breaks the game. Walls and ledges tend to interact very weirdly when sprinting, for you see, apparently Cora can fly up walls or slide down them when sprinting. Also, you can essentially get out of bounds on nearly area by just sprinting and jumping on a wall. (you have to learn the technique, but once you do it is fairly simple)
The devs don't hold your hand in this game and usually don't give much in the way of directions which is fine for the most part (personally, I think this is a bold move, but a fairly good one relating to the story). Seeing as Cora is on her own, and doesn't have any real teacher.) I paid full price for this game, unfortunately, like I said before, this feels liked missed potential. I played this on stream and didn't have a very fun time with it. The one time I played it, I actually changed games mid stream. As a word to the devs, polish. Polish one feature and let the player master it before giving them another or just work them into a more complete "level" of some sort. There just seems to be a lack of build up in the way of learning the usefulness of your abilities. Each item's glossary is essentially the same as the dialogue line you get. IDK, I feel like it just a little more useful information then that. Feel free to contact with any questions. I hope this hasn't discouraged you. I will come back to this game if they ever do like a major update (maybe even some minor ones) just because I see potential for this game to be something. Best wishes to the devs, and I hope you continue to update this game, but right now I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this game, at least at full price. I don't feel ripped off, because I know that in supporting them, it will encourage them to make the game better and better. This is something I hope they do. Cheers!
P.S. If there is going to be any more chapters tell me, and I will be glad to give it another go!
