I'm upset that we purchased this game... It's the worst buggy mess I've ever played.

I love Disc Golf but this game is not it. I get that this isn't some Triple A game but it's borderline unplayable.
1. The course layouts (I played 4 different courses) are awful and don't enforce O.B. or Mando at all. It's not at all fun to miss your target, have the disc travel 300 ft down a hill into a water hazard then the game force you to play your lie. On top of that you have to sit there and watch your disc roll down a hill for a 2 minutes with no option to skip the animation.
2. There's no option to redo a throw, if not playing competitive, you have to start all the way back at hole 1 when using the "restart" option.
3. The shot selection is repetitive and boring. Which is often echoed by the default character skin telling me she's "bored" even when making par. While I like being able to adjust the angle, attempting to throw a hyzer or anhyzer seems to affect the flight path of the disc way too early and is never worth using.
4. The character skins make no sense at all, the default skin is fine other than her hair blocking the camera sometimes but the other skins look like they were stolen out of another medieval game.
5. The unlock system for skins, discs, skills is clunky with no clear objective for the player, you return to the menu and suddenly have hundreds of dollars not knowing how you earned it.
6. Speaking of the camera, a random piece of foliage, that is behind you since this is a 3rd person game, will sometimes be right in you view of the basket and you can only lean slightly left or right to view it.

I'm no stranger to early access or indie games, so the fact that this is early access did not faze me at all.
there's a certain level of jank - to be expected with early access. i figure, in most cases it will get fixed eventually so there's nothing to worry about.
the problem is, when the fundamentals aren't there, well...... then what?
I wanted to like Perfect Round Disc Golf - I really did!
I love a good game of disc golf IRL, and had high hopes for it to be a good game.
the issues were apparent immediately.
-The levels are quite empty. they don't actually feel like a real course at all.
-The playable characters seemed ok. but then the frankly silly f2p style emotes - dances they do after each successful putt is just embarrassing. Totally the wrong focus to put your effort into here.
The worst is the 90's arcade style power bar that doubles as both power and aim, but moves so quickly that it becomes a matter of how fast you van click, and not actual skill.
it would have been much better to model it more on games like Golf with your friends, or disc golf valley, where skill is actually necessary and its not just a case of - you are completely at the wims of timing your space bar clicks correctly or you will fail.
A video game is meant to be fun. it is meant to be something you do to escape the monotony of everyday real life. i did not find it fun. i found it arcadie (in a bad way) and due to that, quite boring.
if you decide to revamp the throw system, then ill give this another try. but with the current mechanics... i just did not enjoy playing it.
