I loved this game but all of a sudden it quit working. After awhile it started working again and I still enjoy it!

A series of battle scenarios across the length of the American Civil War. Gameplay is as most HexWars games. Decent array of scenarios. If you are comfortable with HexWars style, recommended.

There is really no need to complain, about this series of games. After all they do not promote themselves as grand strategy games, for the price and content hexwar I think have done quite well. I don't see to many other games out there like this, yes they do pretty much play out in the same way, but on saying that, they do work and they are playable. Lets give these guys a thumbs up, for actually giving us some wargames.

I really wanted to like this one, but is simply underdeveloped, bordering on unfinished. It is a shame, on two fronts. One, they were attempting to recreate the board games of old, which I enjoyed, and it seems like something that should have been easy for someone with the ability to accomplish what they have. There is simply too much going on that is unexplained, often you will have a cannon which what appears to be a straight shot, and nothing to tell you why it cannot hit the hex you are aiming at. In addition there is no opportunity for actions on the fly, if you cavalry unit is moving down a road and it sees something, that is the end of it's turn! Even if it's movement would have taken you far enough to attack. At one point I had an enemy cannon trapped on a road, and was unable to approach it from any direction without it getting a shot at me, and ending my turn, often driving me back so I would have no different options the next turn. I doesn't help that there seems to be little to no support. It really falls short, and while I might say buy it if it is on sale for less than a buck, just to see, the entire franchise is no longer on my wish list.
