It had a bit of history to it and some complexity. Some nice little hidden things here and there

This is a really fun point & click adventure - and it uses a bit of true history too! I played this with my 9 year old daughter and we had a lot of fun figuring out the various puzzles.

This isn't a bad HOG, per se, but it's not very good. Art is fairly typical for these kinds of games (Gunnar Games doesn't generally have good art, so it's fine). Music and sound is easy on the ear. No voice acting, but that's fine, too. Some of the routing in the game is quite obtuse, and there is at least one puzzle that takes over half the game to complete, simply because components for it are doled out in drips and drabs. None of the puzzles are very hard.

While the story is decent and there are many HO scenes (which can be surprisingly difficult with some very well-hidden items), the amount of backtracking required is insane. You will very frequently find yourself going back and forth across the entire map and you WILL need to use the map to find out where to go next because there is no logic at all regarding where the next HO scene will appear. If you don't mind backtracking, then this is a good game. However, if you are like me and don't want to spend a third of the game backtracking, then I suggest you skip this one. Having said that, a word of caution -- there is no FPS limiting (and the NVIDIA Control Panel doesn't work to limit this game's FPS), so your graphics card may very well be pushed to full load with corresponding temperatures (I have a GTX 1050 Ti and it was running at 98-99% load with at least 45-51C temps).
