One day we will get the new redesigned version the dev is working on so dont worry its not dead just taking a long time to remake the game. Till than this is still one of the best vr horror game you can buy. Combat takes some time to figure out because sadly blocking with weapon isnt a thing in this build so you can only avoid hits by physically leaning the right moment while slowly inching backwards or just gun down the enemies if you have the bullets to spare but when you figure it out boy it feels good. Cant wait to come back and beat some sunken to death and see the rest of the story.

It's good, not 40$ good but good. Would get Organ Quarter if you've not played it yet, it's cheaper and a better game since it is pretty much Silent Hill iv VR.
Edit: I do just want to change my initial thoughts on the game. I would honestly say it is better than Organ Quarter as it's much more detailed seems to be more well rounded, is also way more atmospheric and closer to a Silent Hill (which is one of my favorite game series of all time) type game of any other vr game I've ever played. BUT once again it's the price that really sets me back on this one, honestly I would love to be able to afford to keep this game and keep up with the development of it but unfortunately it's not something I am able to do atm. I've also never had a game gifted to me either :) especially from a dev *wink wink. Lol anyway just my 2 cents on the game, if you can afford it and looking for a Silent Hill vr game you should 100% buy this game asap, but if money is a little tight right now with everything going on I would say wait for either a discount or give the game more time to get a true release.

It has been over two years since the last update. Update before they a year and a half prior. Stay away and keep your money.

Only gave it an hour......Yep, awful experience indeed and struggling to progress in game.... its creeping me out! lol great so far and I can not wait to continue tomorrow night XD.
UPDATE 24/02/20:
11 Hours of gameplay in yet still not reached the end of the current content (that's right, half of the chapters is yet to be added lol). You can tell that the devs is pouring their soul into this game, willing to take feedback/suggestions (a suggestion from myself is being added into one of the areas just to make something even more creepier, your welcome :P).
Silent hill fan and thinking of buying this...BUY IT, there is enough content to play through now and it supports the dev to develop the game further. Its a game bringing silent hill like world to you in VR :D
UPDATE 04/03/2020
19 Hours of first play-through gameplay and still not reach the end of the current contact....£30 AAA games of today mostly last around 3-4 hours unless you repeat content again. There is still tones of content to be added including side quest/areas etc to be added along with rest of main story (19 hours yet not reach the end lol mad). Totally worth the £30 to me!.
UPDATE 12/03/2020
28 Hours and sad to say that I reach the end of chapter 4.....it is indeed worth the price! Did I mention that the game is not finished yet but I got 28 hours of gameplay? Loads of improvements are on the road map plus 4 more chapters. There is more to the game then what you see on the screenshots (Needs updating :D ).

I don't normally write reviews but with the low number of reviews I wanted to write one for this game. If you're like me you probably see this price and are very hesitant as there are a lot of other new AAA games such as Boneworks, Stormland, and Asguard's Wrath. Well after playing the demo, I decided to go ahead and buy and have not regretted it a bit! Although the graphics may not be as good as Boneworks or some of the other games, the atmosphere the game delivers is awesome (very similar to Silent Hill) and very creepy! There is also a ton of game content. I am currently in the 3rd chapter (of 4 for Early Access, 8 planned total) and have spent probably close to 30 hours to get this far. Even though I currently have both Boneworks and Stormland I keep feeling myself drawn to this game and have been spending a lot more time playing it than anything else for quite awhile. Also, the game feels very polished and the devs have been very responsive to questions, bugs, etc. I would check out the free demo and if you like it then consider buying as, although the price is a bit steep, it is worth it for all the content included.

First off i saw a reviewer say organ quarter is better than this that is in fact ridiculous and false in my opinion this is the real Silent hill VR and This is by far my favorite VR game and it also happens to be the most underrated one as well 8 hours in and i'm realizing how huge this game is and loving every second of game play i see others here complaining about the price in my mind it's well worth it for the amount of time i can get out of it comparing to all these other vr games also these developers seem very passionate about their project and constantly updating i can't praise this game enough it's scary, thrilling, highly detailed and a must have this is the kind of vr experience we should all be supporting in fact i plan on buying it for a family member as well

This seems like i would up my alley , but atm the combat ruins it for me. While I dont think a horror game should have amazing combat, i still think it needs to balanced. Fighting anything in this using melee feels so awkward, from dodging to the stamina meter (which i find odd in a vr game, even for saints and sinners). I'll keep my eyes on it for now but atm, I dont think i can recommend it.

The game has a nice atmosphere, but that is it. The first weapon you get is quite literally useless. A pipe with low damage you say? More like NO damage. Literally 12 hits with it did nothing on normal difficulty. Gun aiming is also not accurate. The game is a clunky combination of skipped frames on a 3080, some really immersive environments and models, offset by some cheap flat textures and crappy looking models in other scenes. It's not cohesive or consistent, and the gameplay is just not there in the end. The inventory is cumbersome in the heat of encounters as well. You have to choose between speed running like a rubber armed idiot or lackluster combat and I quite honestly prefer neither. The game really does have a nice atmosphere and a decent story from what I saw so far, but the gameplay and overall experience were just bland and uninteresting to me. Check out Organ Quarter instead. It is better in terms of gameplay, overall experience, and is nearly half the price. It was actually entertaining with less immersive environments and a less engaging story. The gameplay was just fantastic, especially the boss fights. These devs should take notes from them. If this game could improve it's combat experience with some more realistic physics, accuracy, and reasonable damage calculation as well a bit more overall polish to the game as a whole, it has a chance to be decent. It still just needs a lot of work in regards to the existing content. Clean that up before moving on to more content, and I will keep my eye on it and consider repurchasing. Definitely not worth the current asking price, more like half. I'm leaving a long review because I see the potential, and am a horror game fanatic myself. That is why it really sucks to see this one fall short, but it is on the right track.

This is the BEST VR horror game to date and easily the scariest as well. I have played a LOT of horror games in VR (and not in VR) and this one has scared me and made me uneasy more than any other game I think I have ever played. It is far from just a bunch of jump scares. The game plays a little bit like an old school horror game (think silent hill or resident evil). The biggest difference that this game has from those older games is how much depth this game has in terms of playstyle.
One second you're sneaking behind a monster and the next you're turning around and running for your life because you don't have enough health to get into a fight. The only reason you don't have enough health is cause of the last fight.
seriously I can't stress enough how incredible this game is, I don't know why it isn't more popular. don't let the price scare you away either because I'm 5 hours in and still only on the first chapter.
The devs are also very responsive in their discord channel. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into this game and continue to. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the chapters for this game as they come out and I already know I wont be disapointed with them.
Be warned, this one is NOT for the faint of heart.

Writing this review because I know you're probably looking at the price tag and might be scarier than the game itself. Let me clarify the reasoning behind the developers decision to price it extremely high.
This game is in early access and is planned to have a total of "8 chapters" with each chapter being about 2-3 hours depending on what difficulty you play on. So far, there are only 4 chapters, with every added chapter being a free update to current owners of the game. This team has poured 3+ years into the development of this game.
If you like games with:
-Horror
-Survival mechanics (Exploring for loot, Healing, Replacing Batteries, etc)
-Inventory system
-Great Atmosphere
-Saves similarly to old school Resident Evil
-Sneak
-Melee/Firearm combat
-Variety of enemies (with some being blind or deaf)
-Gameplay that will keep you on your toes around every corner
This is for you.
Keep in mind this game is not perfect. There will be bugs.
So far the only bug I've ran into is when my battery percentage on my inventory screen was stuck at 0%. No game breaking bug as of yet. AI is surprisingly good.
I'd hate to see indie devs discouraged because of the lack of sales when their game is actually a solid horror game. If you're still deciding whether you should buy it or not, the devs clarified that they are working on releasing a DEMO for everyone to try soon, so you can wait until then.
