This game is like Beat Saber. I love VR rythym games and I cant wait for the final product!!

This is an amazing deal for $10. Sure it's not a smooth experience the entire time, but it's early-access and it's still in active development. Already I like this game better than Beat Saber. Its more physically demanding to play: you have to slash your arms like Wolverine versus simply flicking your wrist like a Jedi. I can't wait to see how this game progresses, well worth the entry price.

As I enjoy rhythm-based games, I waited to see how Music escape would develop and went diving right in it. Albeit it is still an Early Access, it has been out almost a month for just $5, I can honestly say it deserves it!
Some games just know how to do things the right way. Music Escape is exactly that game. Menus are clean. It doesn't take long on your first song before you know things just feel right. Every detail is on point. You just start to feel the rhythms.
The game has a pretty limited number of official tracks (about seven) it took me about 30 minutes to finish BUT I was all covered in sweat, this game is like a workout you will get tired after one playthrough, I finished the game twice and now I'm feeling some sore muscles.
I purchased the game for €5 and certainly do not regret it!
Music escape is a must-own for anybody that already has VR, especially more if, like me, you like to work out while playing video games. ;)
Gameplay
The gameplay elements are simple and quite intuitive which I will cover here:
• Nine possible directions for the orbs.
• The orbs come to you and you have to slash in one of the nine directions they will indicate.
• Lasers fields that you have to dodge
It does sound good, and when you do actually play the game and start sweating the first minutes you actually get a hang on it. In addition, there is only one difficulty level, easy, I can hardly imagine how more difficult it can get and that promises a very bright future for this Early Access. The timing is very important, if you hit it too early or too late, you are not getting any credits. When you make a mistake, it makes an audible cue,
I have never heard of the songs offered but they are very good and catchy, which is another pro worth mentioning.
I don't think it is fair to compare it to Beat Saber, but for this price tag the game is already really good and it can only get better. I can confidently say it can surpass it.
Verdict
Music Escape is a must have if you like rhythm-based games, love to work out a bit while playing and own a VR. I rate 8.5/10 it's astoundingly amazing for an Early Access for only $5, I highly recommend it.

What i liked:
The game is very fun and enjoyable. Music, for the most part, fits in nicely with the movement of Wolverine's like claws or the lasers, it made me think i was in the middle of the action. The game is smooth, in my experience - considering the fact that it is still in Alpha and Early Access, I have not experienced big flaws - like bugs, freezes or crashes - that ruin the game and it runs really well (i don`t have a powerful PC) so congrats do the developers.
The price starts at 5€ and the game brings too many positive feature for such a low price and will probably bring much more.
What i didn't like:
Some points that are worth considering - Add more songs in the future!
Not enough music available right now. The UI is fairly simple and the game doesn't have the option to choose the difficulty.
Conclusion:
I had a lot of fun playing Music Escape (Alpha Edition).
Honestly, I think it's worth the money and if the little negatives are adjusted, the game will be much better.
Give it a try, you wont be disappointed :)

I bought this game today in the Steam store for $5 USD. It's in Alpha and Early Access, but I found it to be very fun and well done, despite it being a Beat Saber clone, it brings enough to the table to be enjoyable in its own right. I think it's a great deal. Keep in mind, it's alpha, the UI is very basic, there's only 7 songs, and only 1 difficulty (easy) for each song. However, there are global and local leaderboards to keep up the challenge and each track is not only well done and easy on the ears, but fun to swish your Wolverine-like claws to the beat of.

Rating 8/10. It's amazingly good in the alpha and a really good deal for only $5. Can't wait to see the finished product.

cool game to play. I love how easy it is to add my music tracks.
faster music like rock, metal etc. is getting better ported than slower music.
you know, the things to hit are more in the beat of the music. it is more flowy.
hope they improve the track building AI and make it possible to play the added musictracks in the tutorial room.

2023 edit:
My old review from 2019 is no longer relevant. Apparently this game is entirely different now.
When this game originally released it copied many of the features of Beat Saber, but at a $5 price point, and it just felt like a cheap clone.
My original review was quite nasty, and honestly looking back I feel bad about how mean it was.
