Played this in the mid 80s when it was text based on Compuserve and remember those huge telephone bills because Compuserve was a dial in service. With a graphics interface, this game has the same mechanics as the old game. I find it enjoyable. Each game last 4 weeks. At the beginning of a war, players find planets to colonize and use their planetary management skills to gain points for planetary growth over the 4 weeks. Players can attack other ships, destroy and loot colonies, and build and defend their own colonies. For players that like casual colony builder games this is it. It would be much more interesting if there were hundreds of players participating like in the older game.

This game has many aspects that you cant find in modern day games. There is no rush like logging on on reset night to grab your planets and get set up for the game ahead. Waking up each morning to see if someone has attacked your base is a feeling like no other. Picking up this game takes a bit of time and trial and error; however other players are very welcoming and helpful to new faces. Join the Discord and the creator along with other players will answer any questions you have. 10/10 would recommend checking it out, you will not be disappointed!

Ok so when I first started the game I figured I would go in blind without watching any videos that indicated how to play. That way I would play from the perspective of most players. It took moments for me to figure out how to accelerate, maybe 5 min to figure out how to go into systems. The problem occurred when I learned how to orbit planets, I was stuck on how to leave the system. It may have taken me 10 minutes to figure this out. The most difficult aspect to pick up was warping long distance. I kept finding the guardian planets and I would try to use the jump gate and would see the message only works in regular space. This was frustrating because I went in hyperspace, orbit, and just free roaming system and nothing changed. Finally I watched the video for navigation, and it showed me that I wasn’t typing in the system I needed to jump to, I was only clicking on the box (T06). I’m sure this probably wasn’t a problem for anyone else but for me it was mind numbing. I’m now learning about combat so I’ll refrain from commenting until my feet get wet. All in all lots of potential in this game from exploration, ship handles well, graphics are decent especially planets. If the devs can add more content (indigenous life) not just sentient but non sentient. Allow for away missions, even if it’s just text, with maybe a picture this would really add depth to exploration. There also need to be spacial anomalies. Wormholes, black holes, nebula (that effects ship), and rogue space stations. Clans should have the options to put money together to build clan/guild space stations (maybe larger or not bound to planets to differentiate). There should be some skills that players need to develop nothing on the ridiculous level of Eve but something would be good. Lastly players should have visible avatars, with pictures for race/species. Even if we just could name our ships that’s good too if the names can be seen during flight. Great game loads of potential, with a bit more polish it can be awesome. 7 out of 10
