Wolfenstein 2009 is what happens when you take the premise of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, remove the interesting parts, and then slap a "Veil" mechanic on it for no good reason. The game tries to make you care about switching dimensions, but it’s like they just added it because, well, “Why not?” It doesn’t make the game any better—it just makes it more annoying. Sure, it’s kinda fun for a minute, but then you realize you’re doing the same thing over and over again, and that "cool new feature" just becomes a chore.
Let’s be real, the best part about Wolfenstein 2009 is the shooting. It’s solid. It feels great, honestly. Raven Software knows their way around a gunfight, and that’s about the only thing this game has going for it.
If you’re into this kind of thing, maybe it’s worth playing if you already have it, but don’t go searching for it.

After loving Return to Castle Wolfenstein this one was no less enjoyable since it wasn't a classic linear shooter it added a bunch of RPG elements such as weapon upgades, active skills, dialogues with NPCs who also give additional quests in a hub area. But the core is the same pretty much with scary fictional enemies alongside regular faschist troops. Levels look great, the shooting feels nice and responsive and I love the upgrades. However I was a bit dissapointed to find out that even if you find all the gold in the game, it's impossible to upgrade everything. It's a shame the PC version is missing achievements which are present in the console versions. Oh and BJ the protagonist now talks in cutscenes although not in-game for some reason. Not a fan of his model to be honest, I expected a bigger and more blond dude lol.
