I liked a lot of aspects of this game, but dealing with the overgrown dusters just made it frustrating to the point where it drove me to quit and not finish the game. Either out of bad design choice or bad execution, they just felt broken. I didn't really feel like it was good enemy design, and felt more punishing than challenging, and it was a pretty major turnoff. I'm also not really a fan of the hub and mission-based gameplay, where you deploy to one zone, and your NPC teammates will deploy to a different zone for the day, and you never see or interact with anything they're doing - it's just a menu screen that tells you what happened. They had some good things going, but overall it felt pretty unfulfilling, and there were one or two design choices that really rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I put the game down and decided not to finish.

In short : This game is a masterpiece. If you like FPS with a great scenario and awesome atmosphere, don't even hesitate, even at full price.
In detail : The game takes you on an epic journey to Chernobyl. I found every aspect to be perfect : the gameplay loop, the characters, the scenario, the sounds and musics, the environments; the level designs...
The game got its inspirations from other games (Bioshock series, Fallout series, Metro series, STALKER, This War Of Mine...), but the devs did not copy anything. Instead they offer their own vision and manage to do something trully unique, and deliver an experience like no other.
It took me 35 hours to complete in Normal difficulty, the game is quite difficult and complex to apprehend.
I don't want to spoil anything, but trully, this is a trip you should not miss.

Yo, this was a blast. A sort of STALKER-lite that's mission based with crafting and base-building elements, throw in a bit of mad time travel shit and you've got a surprisingly good - if sometimes janky - time.

I like this game. It's not perfect, the combat falls flat and the variety of enemies is limited. However, the game has lovely graphics, interesting characters, and the base building+management aspects were not something I expected but wound up thoroughly enjoying. Overall, Chernobylite is engaging, occasionally terrifying, and unique. A decent game for someone looking for something similar to Fallout or Stalker.

Interesting game, in the stalker theme. The map is well designed, and I have not encountered any bugs. It is interesting to develop your base and manage your team. You can go through both the story and just run and explore the map pumping the base. I recommend!

Great game!
Graphics are amazing, felt really cool to explore Chernobyl as i have always been interested in the subject
The training seems a little pointless though
I loved the fact your actions have consequences, had a few shock moments lol.
Really enjoyed it 8/10

The story is not good at all. The voice acting is atrocious. The goofy characters contrast to a super serious world. Most features like base building are half-baked. Animations are abysmal. There's only 3 different monster types, and 3 human enemy variants (light armor, medium armor, heavy armor). The "change your story choices" component is confusing and unnecessary.
It's like the game director had a bunch of random ideas but only the budget to implement them, not flesh them out.
And the ending... well, I won't spoil it, but what the ****? Seriously? It's like they tried to come up with the most insane twist/reveal just for shock factor.
Maybe Chernobylite 2 will be better, but it got half the amount of Kickstarter backers, which shows they lost a ton of supporters once this game launched.

This game has the most hyper realistic map from the real life Chernobyl Exclusion Zone...
And I won't say no to a little walk there

"Igor... it's not the end. I won't let it end like this."
This game, as something I had no idea what to expect from and had lowest of expectations, was quite a roller coaster of emotions.
The game starts quite confusing and it keeps such tone all the way to the end, making you constantly question your theories. Graphics and atmosphere is really fitting and smooth, along with music being the strongest part of the game.
Base building element was a pleasant surprise, crafting weapons, modifying them, managing base structures and resources like electricity, air pollution, bunk beds, food and free time amusement. Meanwhile you hunted for clues, allies and new discoveries once per a day throughout various locations of Chernobyl until you and your crew were ready for a final blow.
Weakest part of entire game was the combat, it was so shallow, empty and basic. Enemies kept shooting you through foliages, trees, buildings, obstacles, no matter what, you got constantly being pinged with bullets with steady frequency no matter of your position or amount of obstacles between you and your enemy.
Stunning enemies? Forget that, they will 720° trickshot you even when taking full auto burst from AK47 in the head from behind, being bulletspongy eating your entire mag and still calling it a successful day doesn't help much either. Variety of enemies kinda lacking as well.
Weapon behavior is rigged with bugs and don't feel good at all.
Doing main mission objectives always result in one ally to approve and other disapprove toward your decisions changing their relationship toward you, decisions that often really make no sense or feel forced just to be there, you can adjust ally relationships toward you through mind-bending machinery... That uses annoying long-a$$ combat scenarios in VR, yay...
Game and lore definitely overstayed it's welcome as you progress through, bonus points for conveniently making you be able to alter your decisions through time-space anomalies, not really costly.
Overall the game shifted from good to annoying times frequently, the finale being the proper and pleasant climax to the lore closure.

- Entire combat
