Move Mr Boom's firework crates from the machines to the exit without destroying them. Beware though, as nothing is quite what it seems in the Firework Factory!

So far, so great! Initially checked this out as I appreciated it's industrial visuals, and lighting. To be honest, I'm quite terrible at puzzle games, my safe space generally being RTS games. However, if puzzle games are your thing this game is without a doubt up your alley.
Additionally, if you're up for a challenge, well, you're in luck! This game is masterful in making you feel stupid, and a genius at all the right times.

This game is a great challenge and really has you scratching your head at many points. You'll find yourself getting so enraged at certain levels to the point where you leave the game for a bit, only to come back minutes later because you're addicted. The game has a whole 30 levels! I completed it in 4 hours (over the span of 3 days) and I heavily enjoyed it. The mechanics are gradually introduced, along with certain levels even having unique mechanics, which really made me feel like I had time to understand the game!
Overall, I really recommend this game to people that enjoy puzzle game and want a challenge! You won't regret it!

Mr Boom’s Firework Factory is a very enjoyable puzzle game! It’s not often that I lose track of time while playing an indie game! Just an added note, at the time of this review I’ve successfully completed the entire game and achieved all the steam achievements.
I’m going to start off with the CONS and then end off with the PROS, but first I’ll explain a bit about the concept of the game. Mr Boom’s Firework Factory does contain a story however I will not get into the story itself as that would take away from the experience new players would gain otherwise. The objective is to essentially move firework crates through the level while navigating the crates by rotating the floor panels which display directional arrows and paying attention to any other obstacles in the environment. You must make sure you’re picking the firework crates in the correct order.
CONS:
- Setup time per level would vary a bit. This become problematic with levels that required more time to setup lanes properly, and unfortunately because of the fast start times it’s not easy to just adapt as the level kicks off. I wish the levels would require a start option prior to kicking off, this would at least allow players to pre-plan out their routes before starting.
- This might just be a personal issue, but I found it a bit confusing at times when rotating the panels as they work on a counter and clockwise system for the left and right clicks. It took me a bit of time to get used the fact you could be clicking your right mouse button and it rotates to the left depending on your view. On some faster levels I had to pre click just to be 100% sure of the direction for each mouse click as I lost several levels from thinking I was rotating in the other direction.
- Menu options outside of Retry, Continue, and Main Menu are only available if you exit out of the current level and return to the main menu. This might not be a big deal, but I would like to be able to adjust sound settings and graphics at the level stage without needing to return to the main menu, and even selecting another level.
- No profile options. Sadly, if more than one person in your home plays this game, they will not be able to play on their own profile as everything is on a single save file.
PROS:
- Interesting story that develops as you move from level to level.
- Voice acting for the dialogs
- Tutorial level
- Levels vary in difficulty which keeps the game from feeling stale.
- There are multiple ways to complete each level.
- Great selection of power ups to add in the replayability.
- Nice polish to the overall feel of the game. The graphics and audio quality is very good for an indie game.
- Really cool level design. I love the Tesla Coils!
- The game play gives you a rush that makes it hard to pull away when you’ve nearly completed a level by messing up, or if you completed a level by the seat of your pants to try the next one!
What I would really like to see is online features such a race mode, and this would really open up a platform for making custom levels, tournament modes, and more. I really enjoy playing this game and I hope the developer continues to add onto this amazing game.
I would highly recommend anyone into puzzle games or someone looking to even start playing puzzle games to pick up Mr Boom’s Firework Factory. It's been an extremely enjoyable experience.
