Fun, addictive, full of potential. You have several characters that accumulate permanent bonuses for all classes upon death. You get stronger over time. 100 Steam achievements so far. Highly recommended game.

If you check my reviews you will find out the most of them are negative.
But it will not happen here :)
I really enjoy this game even in early access state. Game is easy to understand, you can feel a progress and enjoy finishing more and more difficult dungeons.
If you are looking for simple roguelike game where you will not cry after dead - i can recommend Rodent Warriors.
Cya in dungeons rats ;D

First off, this is most likely the only thing I'll ever state this:
"removal of keybinding for controllers is a very good thing"
The thing with the above statement is that it only had the Unity engine place holders "front face button 1" for instance.
The dev. contacted me as he wanted to know what I didn't like with the game, therefore I played it again to be able to help him out a bit more.
Playing it some more I realized how much fun the game was, it is a very simplified version of a rogue light, maybe rogue light is a bit wrong even...
It's a Battle RPG with rogue light elements - in that you carry benefits with you on your progression into your next game and that you may unlock new fighters for your next game.
The gameplay is very basic; move left-right, hit one button for attack (there are additions as well regarding skills,but...) and "A" to switch up'n'down into the new left/right in the maze that you're stuck in.
It's quite brutally hard but it's hard due to being easy...
What I mean is that when you start a round it's so easy to mow enemies down that you forget to check the health of the player character and get slaughtered by your own ignorance.
The dev. also cares about this game a lot, try it out, "the refund button is over there", please don't do what I did, move just a little bit further and you'll find a very enjoyable game...with really nice music.

Rodent Warriors is a 2D ARPG Roguelite:

You move along the dungeon in a single line at any given time moving up and down to "rotate" your movement along the dungeon grid.

There's lots of randomized loot, crafting, and enemies have universal traits that dictate what they do along with random modifiers for tougher ones.

You start over on death, but do progress future characters' stats, gear, and knowledge in the in-game diary.
So far, so standard, but what makes the game really stand out to me is the level of charm the game has from the sound effects and soundtrack to the visuals and story of the rodent kingdom trying to take over the world. There's a running theme of how everything is cutesy and lighthearted in contrast to just how violent and grim the premise is when you take a step back.
If you need references to other media to get a good picture, think of Dungeons of Dredmor meets Happy Tree Friends with a hint of Rogue Legacy.
My only gripes with the game are minor things like the occasional misspelling, how the character class select theme doesn't loop properly by fading into the background and then replaying from the start at full volume, or how the Necromancer disappears for a frame during his pickup animation.
I also take issue with how the epic bosses (final boss of dungeon) are structured in that they are too easy to cheese, no pun intended. If you are playing someone like the Rogue or Wizard, you can easily bypass them if they are blocking the way and run into a different corridor to regenerate health and mana. Out of combat regeneration is necessary for clearing the dungeon and exploration, but I think it would be best to make these encounters a type of "do or die" situation. The epic bosses should follow players through changes in direction and force the player to be in combat as long as they are alive.
The game isn't at 1.0 yet despite being officially released. Normally, this would worry me, but given that the game is fully functional from start to finish, I would still recommend it to friends even if it never receives an update from here on out.
..but hopefully it does. :)

Early on I found the game to be rather frustrating, and at times I still do, but in general this game is fun and has a hell of a lot of potential. Also I have round that the dev is willing to chat with you one on one to talk about the game, make suggestions, etc and that resonates a lot with me. The tips the dev has given me has been giving later runs for me a lot easier to unerstand and is starting to make the game more enjoyable. Thumbs up so far & I can't wait to see where these games goes from here. Good luck! :)
