It's pretty fun at first but get repetitive later and become kinda boring. Still a recommend if you want some quick fun. AND, keep in mind the developer is very responsive and quick to update their game so this review might be not be so true after some time. Note: I have only played to rank S in the arena so this is my review up until that point. Pros: - Character customization - Nice character art and stage design - Many class to choose from Cons: - The rhythmic sequence to have another turn is fun at first but become too OP and kinda boring later. - Bosses are boring, too much HP in the Advanced rank [strike] and no resistance to any type of debuff, totally become an eternal sandbag when your team have enough stun skills.[/strike] - [strike] Since bosses are not debuff resistant, I find no reason to actually go for any other classes that don't have stun skills. [/strike] (Bosses can no longer be stunned) - There are not many kind of debuff I usually see in other RPG like Burn from Fire type skills, Frozen from Ice type skills or Paralyzed from Shock type skills thus, making dark mage class a lot weaker than white mages. - Class is not so balanced either, [strike] since stun effect could be extended forever [/strike] and the bosses have too much HP, I find no reason to choose tank classes in this game, and [strike] Monk class is just broken, too OP that a team with 5 monks, 1 specialist would just be the best there are. [/strike] (Less broken now with the eternal stun gone but other dmg dealing classes are just kinda boring and Monks, with their continue turn can deal up to 1000 dmg without crits while others can only deal 200) - Did I mention the knight class is sooooooo boring with their lame skill set? Some improvement I think would be nice: - Give the boss some more identity, resistant to some type of debuff based on their design, allowing the player to think more [strike] rather than just throw the eternal stun debuff at them. [/strike] - [strike] Lower the overall HP of the boss [/strike] and give some classes the skills that can do dmg in percentage with the target HP. (You can look for references in MOBA games, DOTA or LOL, as they are quite good in making their champions' identity stand out) - The rhythmic 1 more turn design should be nerfed, it would be perfect if the character could only move for only 1 more turn no matter what they do. - An idea for berserker class, their self-buff skill i think, should let them double and triple their normal attack respectively (the attack itself, not the dmg). That way, they can generate more TP and use more skill, befitting their baerserker name. Anyways, that's it! And while I do bash the game a lil bit, I would still recommend this game as the price is low and it's actually pretty fun for a short while.

It's a good game. It's a pity there won't be more updates as this game has an expandable foundation. I hope there will be a sequel using similar ideas. The story mode isn't unique but, it's well done and it exists within the world. Often, lower cost rpg maker games plop an out of place premise into a generalized fantasy world. Not this one. It's gritty - if a bit edgelordy. The arena battle game mode is awesome! I love all the options and it can actually be challenging in a rewarding way instead of just blatantly easy-mode or ridiculously difficult. If you've been getting rpg maker games because you have a low end rig or because of nostalgia or just hoping to find a diamond in the rough, niche game experience - this is has your name all over it. You'll be glad you picked it up.

where do i even begin here? i was hoping for the best and waited for the story mode to come out. and boy oh boy was this a let down! Everything that the game editor has to offer was meshed together. i mean you create a fantasy world with swords and magic and then you come across a helicopter and a time machine standing around the corner?! or you go into a inn made out of wood and inside is fricking hotel with a fridge and soda machines standing around?! and dont even get me started on the story and characters. everybody behaves super dumb and joins you for no good reason whatsoever. in a lot of places you cant grind to better levels since monsters dont respawn or they do respawn but you cant go back to town to heal yourself. which leaves boss battles to pure luck and makes no fun. i mean everything here was done so loveless. it feels like it was just done for quick profit and nothing more. the only things this game has going for itself is the character art. props to the artist. but aside from this everything is just really really bad. stay away from it.

Estellium Legends has an odd development history, as games go - it started out as a spiritual sequel to the arena-only game Solenars Edge Heroes, and then over the course of patches it grew a story mode and thus became a spiritual sequel to Solenars Edge Rebirth instead. This served it well, since I found playing the story mode much more entertaining than the arena-only mode would have been, but at the same time it made the major issue I mentioned with Solenars Edge Rebirth's story ("a progression of dozens of characters you can hardly care about going through a more-or-less strictly linear adventure across poorly-drawn maps") even starker, because the character selection was a random "All-Stars" choice from Team Syukino's other games, since they were originally just chosen for the story-free arena mode. So, easy thumbs-down, right? Well... not entirely. This one ended up with a much less insane and tedious combat system, even if it was still kind of unbalanced, so I can actually say I played this one on purpose and enjoyed it enough. The class balance is still awkward, but not quite as much as it was in Solenars Edge, and the whole "sixteen-hit basic attack" / "grinding down permanently stunned foes because stun attacks are commonplace" issues aren't really in this one. So actually, this one will get a recommendation, albeit not a very strong one - I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this, especially if it wasn't on sale, but it's much improved over the first two Solenars Edge games in everything except the story. And... well... you can at least laugh at the story, pretty frequently.

So this game is all about building up a party to fight in the arena. There's really not much else to it. No story, no real character interactions. The level cap is at 30, and there's really not much motivation to switch classes. If you do the character goes to level 1, they can keep their old skills, but there's no like, level up bonus or anything. There are also some classes with the same skills. Archer and Specialist. Soldier and Swordsman. On the plus, if you like level grinding, it's a good go. On the minus, we have a really simple game, it's hard to justify a five dollar price tag. I think the biggest negative is that the game is so dark. It makes exploration more difficult than it should be, and honestly it gives me a headache. If they fix how hard it is to see everything, it would be much improved. Otherwise I can't suggest the game at the current cost
