This "game" is unfortunately presented and marketed as a game when it is in fact a visual novel with some basic choices thrown in. The story is very average and choices make little or no difference to the outcome. If you are expecting to take an active role as a coroner you will be disappointed. If however you want a cheesy storyline and RSI from pressing enter a million times the you'll love this. A mediocre effort at best.

If you're buying this as a fan of General Practitioner prepare for disappointment. This is much more like a visual novel, choices are very limited and, by Episode 3, some choices you make seem to be ignored anyway. Run in auto mode and you can clear Episode 3 in about 3 or 4 mouse clicks. I just feel like a passenger. Apologies for selecting "Don't recommend". My intention was not to tick either box but Steam doesn't allow that. The "No" is only because I was expecting a game more like GP and wouldn't have bought this otherwise.

Its almost a visual novel, except your choices mean very little. I strongly recommend you not purchase this. It is a giant waste of time.

"The Coroner Saga" is not a game. All you do is press the enter key 99.9% of the time. A paper back book would have been better. The grammar and spelling are very poor. The term "General Attorney" got my attention each time it was used, it should have been "Attorney General". Some one should have proof read it before releasing it.

In this visual novel you play as a coroner investigating various murders while adjusting to your job, life, and coworkers. The game seems loosely inspired by Bones the tv series, at least in theme. The basic premise is sound, the protaganist is alright, this could be an amazing game with a bit of work. However, it has more than a few problems at present. It definetly needs more heavy beta testing as there are a lot of weird errors-vanilla mood turning back on between chapters, character sprites appearing in the wrong area at the wrong time or a character sprite not appearing at all and a filler appearing instead. Now, despite this there is enough present that the game is still playable. However, further concerns regards the choices available. Often the plot is forced where your choice is meeningless--the same scene will play out regardless of your choice. While I have made every possible effort to not indicate any interest in one of the ROs the game seems to be trying to force the prot into a relationship with that character-which is very frustrating. Even if it let me follow and pick my RO, the choices are a bit to limited in principal. Right now, there seems to be maybe two girls whom are coworkers, a mean coworker doctor, and an artistic wheel chair guy. I'd really like there to be more interesting options, perhaps more edgy...maybe one of the police officers, maybe someone whom turns out to be one of the criminals, maybe a murder suspect....maybe its just me, but all the ROs feel either forced or displeasing for the most part. Now, I am still going to give this game a positive rating, 2.5 stars because -the premise is sound, with the remaining chapters, this game can go from okay to amazing with a bit of refocusing and work; the errors present can be cleaned up with some beta testing, time, and energy; while the plot has been a bit forced so far, hopefully future chapters will allow more branching and maybe improved more edgy ROs. As said, the premise is cool, female prot medical death investigator finding her place in the world. I'd urge the creative team to press the envelope a bit more and I bet this could be a great series. At least I'm cheering it on.

I downloaded it to experience coroner life. instead i have heaps of badly written and not checked for spelling and grammar errors babble of doctors wanting to see each other naked, double meanings, basically a bad quality telenovela based around lab. not really any challenge other than remembering the text on the body to write a report. I have no more patience for this.
