its a great book but does not feel very engaging to play maybe if there were some more systems going on like a inventory or rpg style battles. but those are just my complaints the game does amazingly at what it is trying.

It's actually a nice little game, reminiscent of Oregon Trail, but I purchased it for the advertised 86 achievements, which DO NOT work on the macOS version. And the dev says he can't promise to fix.

First off I need to state that I haven't played Oregon Trail, Death Road to Canada or any other game similar to this. (I've watched some gameplay of the last mentioned - and one other which may've been Oregon)
The difference I noticed instanly is the lack of minigames (murdering zombies, side-scrolling shooter, Frogger-like and such) and this having a lot more text and story, within one town I've stumbled over a side-quest that took quite a while.
I don't think you'll "re-encounter" anyone in the other games as you can in this one, I saved someone's life only to have them appear quite a while later thanking me for saving their life...before they scurry off to do "crimes against humanity". (do note the *think*, as mentioned I haven't played them)
I find this to be a lot more relaxing than I thought, I was sure I'd die within 20 minutes, I'm still (apparently 3 hours in) on my initial run...
As I'm not sure what fans of the original and others like it are looking for I am not the person that can tell them that they will love this...
All I can say is that I like it, it's odd little stories and events...I can say I don't regret buying it but I'm afraid I don't really know who to aim this review at, who else would love it, partially due to lack of knowledge of previously mentioned and also due to having seen them played and the way they differ.
I guess that I'll finish it off with, buy and try - there's always that refund button...I wish I had something more valid to say but...

Organ Trail is one of my favorite games of all time. While Carrier trail never hits the level of gameplay or atmosphere that it, or Oregan Trail had before it, which was definitely not the intention, the writing and comedy is phenomenal! It's been years since i've properly and consistently laughed at a game. So far I've encountered dozens of hilarious and concise random events and this game is amazing if you go in expecting exactly that. The resource management can also become very tough due to the really well-designed risk management dilemmas the game provides, proving that it is only here to be hilarious when you earn it.
With hundreds of hours under my belt of Oregan and Organ Trail, I can definitively say that this game is an awesome example of what this sub-genre could be with a very competent writer at the helm. It lived up to the expectations I had a year ago seeing the Kickstarter page and surpassed it. Great job, mate

Game still needs some testing, unfortunately. During my two hour run, I had the game crash out on me twice, dumping me back to Windows. I was still able to eventually complete the game, only to discover that currently none of the achievements seem to even work. I saw a couple of the "random events" three or more times, and I saw maybe five or six events at least twice, leaving me to feel there isn't nearly as much randomness here as it first seems.
I don't see an update history on Steam for this game, so I'm guessing none of this will probably change. I wish the game removed events from the "pool" after they happened so they didn't reoccur constantly.
Outside of that the game does have a surprise or two up it's sleeve and it has a sense of humor as well, which I like. Maybe I'll come back to it if it ever gets an update...but outside of that I cannot really recommend it at the moment.

Straight forward game play, and great art and music. A few small glitches here and there, but that's to be expected, especially this early on. Great game!
