Like with Max's Big Bust, this game looks like a game that revolves around fan service like Dead or Alive on its surface. Keep in mind that it does have a ton of fan service in it, but it has more than that to it. It's a game created with a lot of love and heart that shows through in its endless charm. This charm comes through in the game's well written dialogue and legitimately funny jokes. This dialogue also improves the best part of this game, its characters. Every one of the characters in this game is likable and charming in their own way. From the ex-drug ring leader magical girl to the flamboyant dancing ghoul (who is unfortunately non-romanceable) all of the characters are wacky in a fun, engaging way. As for the rpg elements in the game, those are serviceable. The battle system was fun to experiment with and it never becomes boring or overly repetitive. It doesn't have a lot of depth, but that's fine because it primarily exists to add variety to the game, not to challenge you. The time management life sim elements are very reminiscent of the newer persona games. This means that the game asks you to balance how much time you spend in the dungeons, with the game's ten romance able characters, and with raising your stats. This element never becomes too overbearing or stressful because the game gives you plenty of time to complete each of these activities, so you never feel rushed. It's clear that the developers put the time management elements into the game to ensure that you don't spend so long on dungeons that you drag the games pacing down too much, and it accomplishes that perfectly. Additionally, there was one benefit of the game that surprised me immensely, it's world building. The game's writers clearly spent a great deal of time creating a fun, interesting world to learn about. The only downsides I found in the game were the occasional typos throughout it. Those were distracting, but not game breaking. They were also few and far between, so it was not that prominent of an issue. Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone that loves visual novels because this game knows what it is. Instead of shying away from those elements, it embraces them to create a fun, campy, and wacky experience filled with likable characters, a surprisingly solid world, and a fun rpg system. Also, this is the most Australian piece of media that I have ever consumed, and who doesn't want more Australia in their lives

Really fun and funny game it doesn’t take itself seriously like west of loathing or neptunia and it takes place in Australia so the Australian lingo and humor is really funny There’s way more cursing then neptunia they say the f word a lot but it’s so over done that it’s funny. The charcters like neptunia are funny and you can’t wait to do there side events or advance the story because it’s fun and funny and entertaining. The music is cute like neptunia. It’s similar if neptunia took place in Australia and didn’t break the fourth wall as much as neptunia does. The dungeons are pretty simple and the gameplay. The npcs are quite funny to especially the equipment shop toward the beginning. The story is hard to explain like neptunia it’s kinda zany and a crazy story but really cute also. I would look into this if you like neptunia or west of loathings humor. Iam just about done with the main story but now Iam working on the side events there’s 10 characters you can talk to and get their heart meter up for different events. Which are just as funny as the main story. Remember neptunia was really funny from the optional side events and charcters you could talk to. It really makes you want to see all the events in this game like in neptunia. It’s really fun and funny. Or someone likes humor games or visual novels or likes neptunia. You will definitely like this. It’s worth the 20 plus hours if you want to explore everything. Nice job who made this. :). 5 stars.

Great game. Slightly buggy in places, but nothing game-breaking. Works with Proton with no issues that aren't also present on Windows.

The spin-off / sequel to Max's Big Bust, this game carries on the good writing and over-the-top humor as well as the overall art style. It is still first and foremost a visual novel, with a JRPG parody tacked on. -= TL;DR =- Despite all of its various flaws, the art and writing is still very much a pleasure that makes this worth a play through, especially if you catch it on sale. -= TL;DR =- The main draw is still the writing, hands down. The main character, Brie, has her own charm and it works well. The story is fine, though it doesn't feel as involved as the previous title, which isn't helped by being broken up by the jrpg elements. The JRPG elements are... well... ok. Not great. But ok. They do all tend to get rather grindy fairly quickly though and will end up feeling more like a chore you do to get to the next bit of writing. I think the game would have been better overall (and much much shorter) without them. Attack animations take far too long, there are no interesting mechanics to take it past the most bare-bones rpg experience, and it doesn't really serve the story all that much other than to be the butt of a few jokes about the tropes in use. Some of the returning characters have new art for... reasons? Some work well (like Holly), some really don't (Evelyn was completely unrecognizable and Ember lost her big fiery mane for example) and some are just a little odd like Max's new ganglier look with a long pony tail. Music is more of the same. It's fine, but the loops get repetitive after a while so you'll probably turn it down / off. The voice acting just felt odd to me, so it was also turned off pretty quickly. By the time I hit the 20hr mark I'd essentially turned off all the audio and did not miss it at all. I don't see this game having any replay value to speak off. The only real change to be found is which romance option you pick, but slogging through all the sluggish combat grind more than once is just not happening, and you can do virtually all of the character specific scenes on one playthrough anyway so you won't miss much of anything. That brings up another nitpick, in that even with the grind, there wasn't nearly enough content to fill the required game time. I wound up spending 6 of the last 7 weeks in game just napping because i already had high levels, good gear, maxxed morale stats, maxxed Heart Beats with everyone, and so on and just had nothing left to do but wait for the next timed in-game event.

The third entry in Lached Up Games' Axonverse series, and its first RPG iteration. The art and writing is in the same style as MBB, so if you liked it, keep going. The gameplay lacks polish and there are too many fights, but the game developer is going to overhaul it all in the soon future.

This was a nice little surprise. I've been a fan of these devs for awhile and decided to check this out after Max's Big Bust. It's a fairly meaty RPG/life management sort of game where you go fight monstergirls in another dimension while balancing personality stat building and dating sim bits. Think Persona but your main character is a bisexual magical girl with the power to summon cheese sandwiches. It's a great effort for a team not used to balancing an RPG, just in terms of nailing a gameplay loop, partly thanks to the fun writing and characters. Brie is really fun as a lead, a good balance of normal and extremely strange at the least expected moments. The combat is simple, but that really clicks with me, offering just enough layers through the large party pool and the elemental system to not become boring. It's a great game you can lose yourself in for a good chunk of time, and it has a lot of content to find and explore. Please consider purchasing this or the team's other games (mainly the Max's Big Bust visual novels), the main dev is currently working from a laptop since their main computer is down and I'd love for them to be able to repair or replace it to offer an update to this one. You can tell this one in particular was made with a lot of love and effort, the little flaws here and there just make me appreciate what it nails more (I kind of feel the same about the first Mass Effect's jankiness).

Overall Score: 8.6 / 10 Quality: 9/10 High quality; minor issues. It is very clear that the developer put a lot of thought into creating this game! Performance: 8/10 I had some minor issues in the startup menu when clicking with mouse causing the game to crash, but this was solved by instead using the arrow keys. Utility: 7/10 all the options you would expect for this style of game, at first I struggled with the movement inside the 'Frakk' but after some playing around it became simple to navigate all aspects of the menu. Sometimes when selecting battle skills i would confuse myself due to the colour of the selected skills (Dark Blue) causing me in haste of battle to not deliver Alluna with a cheese sandwich (dammit!). Controls: 9/10 intuitive and simple Gameplay: 8/10 This is my first visual novel on steam but certainly a breath of fresh air to the format with all of the Australian touches added to it. The battles were extremely enthralling, and all of the different stores and venues you can visit are filled with interesting characters and quips. Challenge: 10/10 Alluna and Brie is not meant to be on levels of difficulty rivaling games such as 'Darkest Dungeon' the core of its gameplay is around the visual novel aspects and the growing of the varied relationships you'll encounter. Content: 9/10 At least ~50 hours to explore most avenues of dialogue, I can certainly see the appeal of more playthroughs as time goes on (is there the possibility of DLC?) Diversity: 7/10 Fight formula is largely the same but the diversity in both enemies and characters made each battle feel fresh, and rewarding. Dialogue was always captivating, and certainly kept you on your toes! Anything could happen at any moment. Immersion: 9/10 Could easily lose days in this game characters were fun and enjoyable to interact with. Design 9/10 What could have been a dry addition to the visual novel genre is made exciting and fresh with the addition of the Australian personality and JRPG elements. Visuals: 10/10 Loved the design of all of the characters, enemies and buildings! All super cute! Sound: 10/10 Great sound effects, music was catchy and fun. Tested with: 1080p at 60 Hz single monitor OS: Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit AMD Ryzen 7 1700; 8 GB DDR4 GTX 1060 (6GB GDDR5X); 960 EVO Corsair K95 Platinum

It’s like an indie version of Persona, I’m really enjoying it so far. The characters are funny and there’s a lot to do. It took me a little minute to get used to the controls but I’m glad I stuck with it, this game is great.

Pros: Good comedy, interesting story, good characters, decent gameplay. Cons: Gameplay CAN be repetitive at times, story leans too much on knowledge of prior release, REALLY should have mouse input. A solid, if slightly flawed, first RPG for the developer. While the gameplay is solid and easy to pick up and play, the interface would really work better in every way if mouse functionality worked. The plot leans heavily on events of the developer's previous game, Max's Big Bust, in a way that can cause confusion to any who haven't played that game. These flaws do not distract problematically from the game's interesting plot, great humor(which continues and enhances the previous game's approach to hanging lampshades on anime and visual novel tropes), and fun characters - you know you've done well in crafting your "rich bitch" character when it makes me want to punch said character through my own monitor. Overall worth your money, but if you haven't already make sure to first buy and play through the developer's previous release -Max's Big Bust: A Captain Nekorai Tale- to prevent yourself from getting confused early on.
