This is really a surprisingly good game! Honestly, I originally bought the game just out of curiosity, I didn't expect much after seeing the screenshots on the store page. I expected a low quality game made just for money. But after finishing it, I completely changed my mind! This little hidden survival horror is much scarier and much more tense than I expected. It is very simple (which doesn't absolutely mean easy!), basically it tests your reflexes and your cold blood: you have to escape three different mazes while the witch stalks you, and the only way you have to defend yourself from her is... closing your eyes! This game is particular because the monster doesn't actively chase you. The witch hides in corners, and stands completely still, waiting just for you to show up. And she kills with her gaze. Meaning that, as soon as you spot her, you have just a fraction of second to close your eyes, otherwise you are dead. So, you'd better have fast reflexes! Fortunately, the devs implemented a forgiving checkpoint system, so when you die you don't have to repeat much. After I escaped the first maze, I thought: "Well, is that all? Do I have to just repeat the same sequence of spot witch/close eyes for the next two levels, and then I'm done?". Well, no. The second and the third levels introduce some very nice and unexpected novelties, but... I'll say nothing about that, I won't spoil the surprise. I just wanted to say that I appreciated this strategy to keep the game fresh till the end. That said, there are also some features that might not satisfy everyone. For example, the graphics are very outdated, the camera is fixed vertically (meaning that you can't look up or down, like in the original Quake), the witch's model is nothing special, and there is no soundtrack except in the main menu (actually I liked that, because it increased my anxiety, but this is a matter of tastes I imagine). Nevertheless, these are all minor flaws in my opinion, which don't affect at all neither the gameplay quality, nor the thrilling, claustrophobic and tense atmosphere. And, honestly, I liked a lot the "old style" look of the game, it brought back memories, and I believe it perfectly fits the overall atmosphere. The game can be completed in under an hour, give or take, even considering the deaths, but the price is very low and honest, so I think it's fine. And I actually appreciated that the game finished just when it was about to overstay its welcome, and to become repetitive. So I recommend this little game to every horror lover who wants to try a simple, but rather challenging experience without too many expectations. Well done devs, keep up the good work and make other games! Cheers guys! Fun fact: in the last level, I won totally by sheer luck!
