I'm still in the early stages, but it looks really promising. If you're a fan of the rpg/turn-based genre you can go for it with your eyes closed. It's been a long time since I've played a turn-based game with unique gameplay touches. Think twice before using your AP, enemies are just waiting for it! Really refreshing project.

Strong tactical gameplay, so far approppriately punishing. Everytime you spend 1AP, all ennemies get 1AP.
You can/must forge your skills combining range, effect and cost variables. If you are used to TRPGs the above is all you need to know.
Artistic direction isn't to my tastes but is well made, so it's not repellent, same for sound design. Overall a solid game deserving more recognition

Guess I’m in for a transposition, I want more of Wantless!
The story is bland and underdeveloped but the concept is really interesting. You work as a transposer and you remove unwanted thoughts or memories from desperate patients. It’s like you’re an engineer of the mind. Seeing the level of distress of your patients, don’t expect their psyche to be welcoming. You’re in for a fight and it’s not against unicorns and rainbows! Luckily, you don’t need no phd in psychology to smack weird ugly demons! Steel your mind and dive into this review first.
The more you remove unwanted thoughts from your patients, the stronger you feel compelled to work your own brain out and test new strategies. Wantless lets you combine a vast talent tree, a decent amount of equipment types and tons of possibilities for crafting your skills, tailored to your playstyle. You can craft the form (area, range, etc.), the effects (damage, afflictions, heal, dash, etc.) and a cooldown/cost for every skill. With such a range of character customisation, it’s usually a pleasure to see your strategies take form as you progress through the game and evolve your character to make it whatever you want. Want to crash everything in your path with direct damage? Check. Want to erase your opponents through a rain of afflictions? Check. Want to move around like a madman and poke enemies? Check. Will you use a few overpowered skills or tackle challenges with a wide variety of skills? Would you prefer mass destruction or surgical strikes to erase foes? Do whatever you want, you can!
Games with such a smart gameplay are rare and should be treasured when then come by. This is a fresh experience I enjoyed a lot.
There are also things that could be improved:
* the music is remarkably bland, almost non-existent;
* when a skill component presents a vast list of side effects, it’s so long, boring and painfully costly to finally reach the combination you seek, it feels punishing;
* most noteworthy equipments are available only after you reach the endgame;
* the endgame equipment is so much linked to RNG, it’s so far removed from almost everything else that’s smart in the game (this really, really sucks big time);
* levelling up feels really too long and unrewarding past level 60 and there aren’t enough mind keys;
* would be nice to know the boost to foes associated with neural enhancement, which would help to know if you are in for a fun or a tough time;
* most bosses and elite enemies feel like total meatbags (quite literally sometimes), and this become unsufferable at high neural enhancement;
* the “last” hidden success is stupid. It’s like the total opposite of the gameplay. This is so poorly designed it feels like a crime against everything this game stands for and I can’t stay “silent” about it. Pun intended, you might understand when you reach the endgame yourself.
Because yes, if you like a cool concept, a smart gameplay, a close to unlimited range of character customisation, an affordable price, you will give Wantless a try. It’s your turn to ask for more.
