Phillip Log kann nicht länger Ruhen, Peanut Button lässt ihn in Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye erneut in der Cyber-Noir-Story um Liebe und Verrat herumschnüffeln. Retropolis 2 spielt ein Jahr nach den Ereignissen von The Secret of Retropolis und beginnt mit einer Aufarbeitung des ersten Teils und wie es dem glücklichen Paar bisher ergangen ist. The Secret of Retropolis ist nur sehr kurz und sollte passend vorher gespielt werden, ist aber nicht zwingend nötig. Wir sind also Philip Log, ein Privatdetektiv in einer von Robotern bewohnten Welt. In der riesigen cyberpunkigen Stadt Retropolis erwarten wir die Rückkehr unserer geliebten Roboterfreundin und beliebtem Bühnenstar Jenny Montage. Sie will herausfinden, wer nun wirklich, damals vor einem Jahr, in der Wüste verscharrt wurde … (siehe den ersten Teil von Retropolis). Wir stehen also mitten in der Szene und nicht davor. Wir können uns in den Szenen nicht bewegen, bzw. nur zum nächsten Screen. Alle Dinge, die wir zum Lösen der Rätsel benötigen erreichen wir wieder über unsere ausfahrbaren Arme. Also Motionsicknesssicher. Genauso ist auch der kleine Kofferroboter wieder dabei, der uns überall hin folgt, als Inventar dient und uns als stummer Begleiter an die jeweilige aktuelle Aufgabe erinnert. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3148407358 Die Rätsel sind im Vergleich zum Vorgänger etwas anspruchsvoller, aber gut lösbar. Einige Rätsel können gescipt werden und netterweise ist es zudem möglich im Spiel einen Walkthrough zu öffnen, um uns auf einer Browserseite die jeweilige Lösung zum Problem anzusehen. So sollte jeder das Spiel durchspielen können. Die Geschichte ist in vier Episoden aufgeteilt und hat mehrere Enden. Sie wird nicht nur in den Szenen über Dialoge usw. erzählt, sondern auch über tolle Zwischensequenzen, in der Philip uns seine Gedanken mitteilt, während er durch die Metropole der Roboter zum nächsten Untersuchungsort cuised. Die handgezeichneten Umgebungen und Protagonisten des Spiels passen wieder hervorragend zum Film-Noir-Stil des Spiels und sehen wieder erstaunlich lebendig aus. Der einfache Cartoonartstil passt sehr gut zu Retropolis. Im zweiten Teil ist nicht nur die Umgebung detailreicher und farbenfroher, sondern auch die Animationen der NPCs wurden verbessert und vermitteln so eine tolle Atmosphäre. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3148410412 Die Synchronsprecher von Philip und Jenny, sowie allen anderen Figuren sind sehr solide bis professionell, es macht Spaß ihnen uzuhören. Natürlich nur auf englisch. Es gibt aber Untertitel, in englisch. Um alle Scherze zu verstehen, die sich die Roboter manchmal zuwerfen, sollte man aber schon etwas mehr als Schulenglisch sprechen. Retropolis2: Never Say Goodbye ist ein gelungener zweiter Teil. Die Geschichte wird gekonnt weitererzählt und hält noch so manche spannende Wendung bereit. Bereit für einen dritten Teil? Retropolis 2 is set a year after the events of The Secret of Retropolis and begins with a reappraisal of the first part and how the happy couple have fared so far. The Secret of Retropolis is very short and should be played appropriately beforehand, but is not essential. So we are Philip Log, a private detective in a world inhabited by robots. In the huge cyberpunk city of Retropolis, we await the return of our beloved robot friend and popular stage star Jenny Montage. She wants to find out who was really buried in the desert a year ago ... (see the first part of Retropolis). But after hearing nothing more from her, we suspect an old enemy is behind the disappearance of our friend ... Just like its predecessor, Never Say Goodbye is also a point-and-click adventure game embedded in VR. So we are in the middle of the scene and not in front of it. We cannot move in the scenes, or only to the next screen. We can reach all the things we need to solve the puzzles using our extendable arms. In other words, motionsickness-proof. The small suitcase robot is also back, which follows us everywhere, serves as an inventory and reminds us of the current task as a silent companion. Compared to its predecessor, the puzzles are a little more challenging, but easy to solve. Some puzzles can be scanned and it is also nice to be able to open a walkthrough in the game to view the solution to the problem on a browser page. So anyone should be able to play through the game. The story is divided into four episodes and has several endings. It is not only told in the scenes via dialogs etc., but also via great cutscenes in which Philip shares his thoughts with us as he cuises through the metropolis of robots to the next investigation site. The game's hand-drawn environments and protagonists again fit the film-noir style of the game perfectly and again look amazingly vibrant. The simple cartoon art style suits Retropolis very well. In the second part, not only are the environments more detailed and colorful, but the animations of the NPCs have also been improved, creating a great atmosphere. The voice actors of Philip and Jenny, as well as all the other characters, are very solid to professional, it's fun to listen to them. In English only, of course. But there are subtitles in English. To understand all the jokes that the robots sometimes throw at each other, you should speak a little more than school English. Retropolis2: Never Say Goodbye is a successful second part.
