WARNING: Not compatible with HP Reverb G2 (possibly more).
Ended up returning it after 20 minutes of frustration - scroll down to the rest of the comments for more detail, not a lot has improved in the past 2+ years. You are better off using the original app version.

Will be a fantastic realization when the design hitches / bugs are smoothed out. I'm a big fan of SpaceTeam on mobile so it was an immediate hell yes when I heard about a VR version. This is a really strong running start to taking the ideas of the mobile version and expanding on it a bit further. The character designs and animated rigs in this are neat as heck.
Ran into some critical design problems where your tools failed to respawn, or slime damages to your console would never go away not matter how much you tried, and would basically cripple you for the entire round. It's my opinion that tools should respawn (or snap back into place) immediately vs bouncing around and waiting for a settle state to re-position themselves back in your tool set. Especially in a game like this where you will be going back and fourth a LOT as stuff gets ramped up. Hopefully these get resolved in one of the next updates, as they tend to make people want to never play again once experienced.
Thumbs up if you love SpaceTeam, or are looking for something other than Bridge Crew to play this kind of game with friends. If you never heard of SpaceTeam, maybe hold off for a couple updates.

It's Spaceteam. If you wanna argue with your friends about spaceship stuff for hours in a sort of cooperative tangle of jargon, this is the game for it. There's a free phone version that's been around for years, and this one works with that one too, but the extra stuff you can do in VR is great. I highly recommend as a party game.

Got this game because I enjoyed the phone version so much. From the tutorial, I could see this being an interesting succesor.
Sadly, I can't seem to be able to play online at all. It says "Offline" after trying to host the game and by the time it reconnects back to "Online" it goes back to the main menu without starting the game. My friend from another country (different PC, different ISP) got the exact same issue so none could actually play online. Got this for online play alone; I mean yes, you can play with bots but where's the fun in that?
There was a thread with this issue from another player with the same issue but not reply from the devs or anything. What a shame! Reading previous reviews, I expected some bugs but not the entire multiplayer component being broken.

This game might be a blast to play. I wouldn't know because no one is playing it. Online is 100% dead without a single game in any region.
If you have friends to play with then maybe your experience might be different. But if you like me rely on public matching for online games this is not worth your time. Check out Star Trek Bridge Crew.

It's fun chaos very similar to the mobile game just in VR. Play with friends. There's not a ton of substance here but it's an amusing 'party game'.

It's a super cool concept but not especially well implemented. Playing with people on their phones is a cool idea but it uses a browser instead of the Spaceteam app which was disappointment #1. Some of the phone players weren't able to see all their controls. We also had trouble getting games to start and often had phone users get dropped out of the game or spawn on top of a VR player causing them to have two sets of controls. Maybe it'll be better after a few more updates.

Unfortunately missing a ton of options to make the game playable, can't calibrate, delay on audio, had to use discord with the game muted to make the game playable, and even then we had two people crash. Can't really recommend the game in its current state.

I really wanted this to be good, I love the app version, but it really doesn't feel ready for release in VR. Took us forever to troubleshoot online play; then we realized we wouldn't be able to include everyone at the same time, but we still played a little before getting frustrated. The most disappointing thing is that you can't play online and with phones at the same time! My friend and I want to play with each other but also include our significant others, but that doesn't seem possible. Other problems:
- Switching to seated mode requires you to be able to reach the button from the position you'd like to sit in. And better hope your chair doesn't have armrests or the buttons will often be placed inside them.
- No way to recenter your standing position without toggling to seated and back, but for some reason toggling back resets the floor to the level of your head and you have to quit the game to fix it.
- No way to reposition the control panel or the instruction screen, so they're not visible at the same time. Perhaps this was an intentional decision. Control position is uncomfortable for seated, where I'd prefer it to be in front of me.
- No way to adjust the relative volume of voice vs sound effects. You are probably better off removing your headphones and just calling your friend, as it also make coordinating the rooms and troubleshooting easier.
- Game will be muted if you alt-tab away from it. It has to be in the foreground to work.
- Any control involving dragging something, eg knobs, levers, switchboards, is floaty and imprecise. It is likely to switch positions when you release, which counts against you.
Aside from those complaints, it shows potential and it's early on in the release, so hopefully they fix these things (especially mobile+online multiplayer!) and polish up the UX and I can give it another shot.

Edit: A lot of this has been fixed by the devs already!
Pretty unpolished VR game, refunded for these reasons:
- Game is server based (!!!), it only has servers in US/EU, so interactivity with the environment or items is very laggy and inconsistent with higher ping. Voice chat is also laggy because of this (half a second delay) and cuts out with multiple people talking. This makes no sense to me at all. Why isn't it P2P?
- No video or audio settings, can't change volume of voices or game SFX.
- No Index controller support.
- No reset orientation button.
- Orientation constantly shifts for no reason, requiring you to move left and right between menus. This is very annoying in seated mode.
- Game doesn't allow control of desktop when its open.
- No animations of hands touching the switches or twisting knobs, no haptic feedback, feels quite difficult and unsatisfying to use.
- Avatars completely broken, heads not on bodies etc.
- Game crashed for two people in my group.
- Using Discord to talk is an option (to avoid the lag), but then you miss out on the voice effects and sound effects of the game, as you can't mute other players.
