I love this game, it scratches an itch that is really satisfying. I am over 100 hours in and still so much to game left to play!

The crafting, progression and exploration are pretty chill. Combat leaves a little to be desired in the beginning but that isn't exactly why you'd typically play a game like this.
Game is severely neutered by lack of any online multiplayer and local just isn't enough to shore up that shortcoming in 2025.
Game received what was titled it's "Final Patch" in May of 2024 adding mod support and various content additions and quality of life changes.
All in all, I do think it's worth the $20 the way it sits.

It's a surprisingly fun game and alot bigger than I first thought. It's not just grinding and upgrading but also puzzles and bossfights. You get ALOT for the money. I bought it on sale also so I'm very pleased!!

So far really liking this game, its a simpler crafting survival game with a focus on destruction rather than building. The progression system is good in that I know that if I venture too far I'll encounter enemies that are too tough, but there is also a metroidvania aspect where there are things I passed early on that I have to go back once I gain the ability to access/destroy those things for parts. The death mechanic is a typical drop your resources on your body. I found a few mysteries along the way which are interesting and help give you reasons to explore

I really enjoy playing this game after a hard day of work. Puzzles are not too hard, destroying things is very satisfactory, map is huge for exploring and there is something very relaxing about the game, maybe it's the killing or maybe it's the nice colors or the intro song, idk. This is a very chill game to play.

i forced myself through playing this game. It was fun at first, but eventually it really turned into a slog. I just... I finally finished playing it, and it left me feeling like there should have been a bigger ending. Like there was something missing. I wont spoil anything but some of the stories it built up, ended really unsatisfyingly for me.

One of the most fun games I've ever played with a surprising amount of scope and leveling. Very polished, pretty much a perfect game IMO and there's nothing out there like it.

DYSMANTLE is a surprisingly addictive open-world survival crafting game that thrives on its unique premise: smash everything in sight to gather resources and escape a zombie-infested island. While this might sound simplistic, 10tons Ltd. has crafted an experience that goes far beyond mindless destruction.
The core gameplay loop is incredibly satisfying. You explore a vibrant world, dismantling nearly every object in your path, from trees and rocks to furniture and abandoned vehicles. These resources fuel a vast crafting system, allowing you to create tools, weapons, armor, and even build and customize your own bases. The sense of progression is constant, as you unlock new abilities, discover hidden areas, and become a true master of dismantling.
Combat is straightforward yet engaging, with a variety of enemies to test your skills. While not overly complex, the combat system provides a satisfying challenge, especially when facing off against the game's unique bosses. The world itself is surprisingly immersive, with diverse biomes, hidden locations, and secrets to uncover. The day-night cycle, dynamic weather, and atmospheric sound design further enhance the experience.
While not heavily narrative-driven, DYSMANTLE weaves an intriguing story through environmental details, notes, and encounters with other survivors. The mystery of the island's past and the quest to escape its confines provide a compelling backdrop for your adventures.
DYSMANTLE truly shines in its ability to provide a relaxing yet rewarding experience. The freedom to explore, craft, and build at your own pace, coupled with the satisfying destruction and sense of progression, makes it an ideal game for those seeking a laid-back yet engaging adventure. While there's room for improvement in areas like combat depth and endgame content, DYSMANTLE is a hidden gem that's well worth exploring.

Dysmantle is an intriguing game where grinding isn't just a mechanic—it's the core experience. In many games, grinding feels like an artificial way to stretch playtime, often leading to frustration. However, Dysmantle is designed around it, making the process both relaxing and rewarding. The large map can sometimes feel overwhelming, but frequent weapon and upgrade drops help maintain a steady progression. The biggest drawback is the lack of fast travel early on. Fortunately, completing both the Doomsday and Underworld DLCs unlocks full fast travel, and it's worth tackling them early, as they also provide valuable perks that make the main quest more manageable.
