This is WAY more than I expected it to be. I saw a post on twitter about it and thought it would be cute to have run in the background while I work on art only to find out theres SO MUCH COOL THINGS IN THIS??? You can fully customize a room , make a check list for what to do that day and check it as you complete it, have a timer for when you need to take a break (And as someone who tends to get lost in working on art, its been super helpful! Even though Ive had this for one day even my family noticed I was taking more breaks and were happy I was doing more things! ) anyway back to the features of the game but, ADD CUSTOM PHOTOS AND GIFS ON THINGS on books and wall art, you can even put a sketch of a thing you're working on at the moment right on an art tablet as your character is drawing on it ! You can even make more than one room and customize it and have friends join you if you want (or if you're just like me , have a room based on my own actual room and just focus on my own stuff , though eventually I may want to make a little office space for others to join! ) But long story short this little program had more than what I expected and I really love it!

A cozy little game that combines your typical Sims-esque gameplay with a productivity app, featuring tools like a pomodoro timer, a to-do list, a diary, a lo-fi playlist and/or ambient noises, and so on! As an incentive to work and progress through your tasks are you given an pokemon-esque alien that grows as you spend more time in the game. Very fun with friends :D

About the Wall Display Shelf M: It was clear from their official statement that the developers had not properly investigated the impact on users’ rooms before “fixing” the objects. If the fix was unavoidable due to interactions between systems, they should have explained the details while acknowledging the impact it would have. System update require the ability to assess the impact before and after the change and respond accordingly. If it didn't affect gameplay, the developers had the option to leave it as is, depending on the situation, especially since this is a game with a strong creative element. However, their worst possible response ended up disappointing many players who were passionate about building and wasting their time. Although there has been no official statement, there is a possibility that, in the future, objects that do not affect gameplay will again be labeled as “bugs” and fixed without proper impact analysis, leading to the same kind of situation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As far as I know, there are many players who treat room-hopping itself as a hobby and have no intention of actually working while using it. For that reason, this game tends to receive high ratings overall, and users who are aware of its negative aspects ( not just in this game, but in general ) tend to leave the community quietly rather than post negative reviews. To be clear, this is not a productivity or """focus""" app. It is very well suited for people who enjoy designing rooms, as well as those who like casual social interaction and hanging out with others. I finally managed to find a room I like, so it works for me. However, there is always the possibility that you won’t find a room that suits you. In that case, this is not a support tool at all — it is nothing more than a game disguised as one. The only situation in which this game functions as a “support tool” is when the room you like happens to be hosted by someone else. In other words, rooms are inherently unstable and are not guaranteed to exist at any given time. If you purchased this game because you genuinely want to focus and work, do not create a room. Instead, find one room you like and stay there. The moment you become a host and start waiting to see whether people will show up, your time will drain away endlessly. This is something anyone who has hosted a room understands, but people who only wander from room to room will never understand, and I say this with certainty. I am writing this as a warning so that newcomers who buy this game expecting it to improve their productivity do not end up wasting their time after actually playing it. I believe many people reading reviews are either short-term players, or players whose main hobby is hopping between rooms rather than creating them. If you are an existing player who does not understand this review and has never created a room, try hosting one yourself and attempting to work while waiting for others to join.

This game (program?) is a fun way to gamify your studying sessions and the co-op drop-in feature is nice because you can just join any populated space and makes your studying sessions feel more than just wallowing in a void alone. Study hard and become a millionaire in this ever growing oppressive world.

I genuinely am rocking with this focus app. It has everything I did not know I wanted. I can have my friend join me virtually as we work even though they've all moved away. I can plaster the walls with photos of my friends, my partner, my pets, and my art. I can add my own music and soundtracks to listen to. I can customized my avatar and space to feel important to me. It has multiple timers, a to-do list, but they are not mandatory to use. Very friendly to my adhd-self so far. **
For the devs [things that would improve quality of life for game]
1. Having a toggle to keep kuroda off the screen without manually toggling the display everytime you open the app. 2. More facial hair/other options to properly make a male avatar. Western full beard/facial hair is common among my male friends.
Unimportant silly things I wish were in the app:
1. A brown chihuahua I can put on the bed ᴗ͈ ᴗ͈ please~

Things I liked-a detailed review
Customization: I like that not only can I customize an avatar and have them typing, drawing, or doing a specific pose, I can completely customize the study environment. I have created a room filled with books I like to read, my art works, and pictures of my pets and family to help motivate me. I don't use the .gif function because my adhd is a slippery slope when it comes to too much movement but I'm sure this feature is great for many others. Little distraction: The camera can be set to auto (to slowly pan around) or disabled. After a certain amount of time, the screen will loose the UI and only have the working avatar and the date and time displayed quietly in the corner. Scheduling: Set up routines, if you should spend everyday or every wednesday completing flashcards, for example, you can write it on your routine and check it off. No overly complicated scheduler. Just simply write what you'd like down, and check it off. To-do: Simple, easy. Got a list of things you want to hit, use the to-do list to keep track of you tasks for the day. Pomodoro timer: Not only can you set a pomodoro timer, you can set up a resting pose for your avatar to do during the scheduled breaks, which is a nice touch. Timer: It also offers other timers, and just a stopwatch as well, to meet different needs. I quiet like this if I just want to log how much time I spent doing a task rather than wanting to take breaks like with pomodoro. The UI keeps it sleek, simple, and out of the way for the most part-which, again, is very important to people with ADHD. Music: Very customizable. I clicked through the music, found none of the tracks too grating to listen to, but like always, they don't compare to my own music playlists. Then I found out you can upload your OWN playlists. Select the folder that contains the songs on you computer and, ta-da~, you now have a disk you can play that is curated to your own taste. I bought the bokura soundtrack for example and selected the soundtrack and can now listen to that through the Gogh app :3. **One thing though, others cannot hear this when in multiplayer. I wouldn't mind but I'm not sure if the multiplayer is just quiet for them or if they are able to play their own songs on their side. This would be optimal since no one shares the same listening preferences. Stats: A fun (simple) graph showing how much time was spent Diary: This is great! A diary to log your thoughts into, maybe your hopes and goals, is already implemented into Gogh. Most importantly, there is an export button! I've run into similar diaries in other apps that have NO export button. Who would want to spend the effort writing anything down, knowing that there is no easy way to permanently access those thoughts in the future. Not me. I'm unsure if Gogh has any access to these entries or if they are stored entirely locally. Privacy is important and should always be a priority. Avatar customization: It is limited but stylized, which is actually good, but the lack of male facial options is critically lacking. There is one avatar- highly stylized with a long semi-chibi anime form with chunky feet and large ears. I decided to make a 'concept' of me rather than a true representation. You can customize the colors of anything you put on and that allows endless possibilities in itself. This is great, the single stylized avatar is better than a thousand sliders or models of different realistic body types. Not necessary for creating an environment of focus. If my male friends wanted to make an avatar that resembled them even a little bit, that would be far more difficult. It's the face! The facial hair options are abysmal and it feels like 'masculine' options are an afterthought. They are there, and many won't have an issue making something, but if you have a full beard like my partner, the closest thing makes the avatar look like a monkey :< I would say the male facial options are too limited. Multiplayer: A feature I adore in concept but have not yet used. I'd rather not use it with strangers but with friends and family. I have not used it yet, but I have bought the game for a friend who live far away to see how we like it :3

I wish i could post a positive review, i really love the idea and the design. But its so buggy, Loading goes wrong often, editing and placing furniture in a room is super janky. and the game crashes often too.

I bought this game because I've seen videos of it on social media. Overall, it's a very cozy game with a lot more customization options than I thought. For example, I really love how you can add your own GIFs to monitors and photo items. I also love the drawing feature, and it always makes me feel happy whenever someone leaves a doodle. The graphics quality is crisp, and the lighting modes are ambient and visually beautiful. The best part of this game is that it helps you complete tasks, such as the to-do list features and the timer features. Although I'm aware that this is a game designed to help with focus, I would love to see a chat feature and a friend feature so that you can easily invite friends to rooms. Additionally, I would love to see more poses and avatar customization options.

I absolutely love this game! I spend hours and hours on it making rooms and characters. BUT I have one issue with the game, I wish we could change the size of our characters, their chest size, hip size, ect. Hopefully this gets added one day but for now I have to deal with it. Also maybe add physics to the clothes as i have a weird fixation with physics. Highly recommend!

i love apps like these. particularly with this one i really liked the style of avatars and the graphics in general. tho unfortunately there are a lot of bugs (like right from the get go color pickers in avatar creation, even those are... eh let's say don't work properly) and for five dollars you don't expect to see those kind of issues. however, i really like the vibes this app gives off. i made tomoko as my avatar, she just cutely stares at me while i study japanese and that's pretty much enough for me. curious to see further additions.

I highly enjoy this game, to the point where I've used my very little disposable income buying it for friends as well. I love the art style. I enjoy making rooms, and seeing other rooms even more. I have been more productive when sitting in other ppl's rooms, because I'm less likely to get distracted by other games. That said: I feel the price is a little too high for the Miku DLC considering it's just the addition of a few furniture and cosmetics, especially since it doesn't include the music pack. Also upsetting that this is the only way to receive these furniture pieces that are not even Miku related. The community has done amazing things with the furnitures already available, but that said, there's (in my opinion) not much to choose from despite it being a core game element. I'm excited to see what future updates entail, and I hope it includes more variety of furniture for the base game. Imagine the amazing things the community could do with more options! But if they're behind a paywall, I simply won't be able to afford it, and will be too discouraged to play further.
