its a cute little game to pass the time on. sadly i do have some thing against it. first off i would like to able to post my achments. on my frofile for the game but sadly the game doesnt allow me to do that so that alone makes me wanna not play the game. i still though find it a good game to play when waiting on another game to install or i also find it good to play when your just in the mood to play a simple little game. its cute in its own way

Got this game last week & enjoyed it. I like it better than other food truck simulators bc the mechanics are not too complicated. I also enjoy the idea of picking your own menu & prices.

Good little game, there is enough variety within the gameplay to keep you hooked, maybe needs a few QoL improvements but the actual gameplay is satisfying. My only negative is, the hiring, its not clear at all, actually what the manager does, its not truly implemented, you can't send them to a pitch so you already know its automated, you have to buy all the stock, but your stock seems to be only limited to the size of your own fridge and not combined, its tedious, it has to be either be seperate or the manager buys their own stock. overall though a great idea and gameplay loop, even if its just for a few hours a night or a week, maybe if the game gets more in depth and implments a bit more management, it may be a stayer

got this spontaneously after watching Kanz play this on his youtube channel. His influence has lead me to try out random and various games after watching him and I must say this ones up there with one of my favourite relaxing games to play! Yes I've only just gotten it but everything works as it should do. Only thing I'd suggest perhaps have the tutorial cover every aspect of the game, including hiring staff? Would be my only suggestion, will update this if something drastically changes my opinion but I know for a small team you need all the good vibes! Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait to find out what other additions you're going to be adding to the game next!!

This game offers something for many different play styles, if you're looking for something casual, relaxed and don't want much difficulty you can adapt the game to be like that, but if you're looking for a challenge and want to start off with more of a handicap you can also do so. The music is a nice touch also, not too obnoxious or loud and is something you actually would like to keep on and not put on 0% like some games soundtracks. For a game that's just released it is great, For the price as well I can easily see myself getting my moneys worth and getting many more hours into this game!

This is not a complete game as of 7-20-24. There are so many bugs and several features that are not explained or do not work logically. Bug: if you are on the map page and buy your supplies first, then go to the garage and change something on your truck, the supplies you bought aren't there when you go into a town. - easy work around, do the resources last. But still a bug. Feature issue: You can buy more then one food truck. That is great. You hire a manger to mange it. But you can't tell that truck which town to go to. There is no way to supply that truck. In fact, turns out there is just one supply...the one on your current truck. But it's a new truck and only has small storage?!? too bad. Your other truck you sent off with the manager is out of tacos even though it has all the storage your current truck doesn't. Speaking of multiple trucks. There is no description about why one cost more then the other. Is it looks only? Is there more space inside? I have no idea. I haven't gotten the expensive truck yet. More towns open up as you play. Awesome. Some have obvious good things, like more customers. But...there doesn't seem to be any progression? Why should i go to that 1/10 customer location when I started at the 2/10 location. Do certain locations do better on certain days? Are their events happening that need a food truck? So far, I just randomly pick a city that I feel like that day. The game has potential. I'm sure I will play it some more (currently at 4 hours) . I just hope they don't think it is complete as is.

Grub Truck isn't a great game, but it is arguably the best food truck-themed management sim available on Steam as of November 2024.
Gameplay
You start by selecting one of several premade characters (each with their own goals, backstories, and unlockable perks), taking out a loan, kitting out your first food truck with secondhand appliances, and buying supplies. From there, you [strike]take over the city[/strike] launch your food truck empire! During the day, you serve customers by moving food from the fridge to your limited-slot tray, then placing the food in the correct appliance, waiting until it cooks, and moving to the window to fill orders. Successful orders increase your reputation, which then unlocks new menu items and neighborhoods. After hours, you can expand your fleet of food trucks, set them up, hire managers, purchase supplies, etc.
Review
Grub Truck's gameplay loop is repetitive but all chill vibes, and the decorating mechanics are surprisingly flexible. I've spent more time than I care to admit lining up salt and pepper shakers just so, and have yet to turn down the music. That said, the game is rough around the edges. The UI looks like it was created in Microsoft Paint; the world, characters, and customers are all Synty Studios Polygons (which is fine, but I'm personally tired of seeing these same assets everywhere); and the mechanics are pretty bare-bones. Cooking is more about inventory management than anything that feels like cooking in a food truck, and the camera moves strangely between appliances. Everything from hiring managers to ordering supplies is extremely simple, which likely appeals to more relaxed gamers but - as a stress junkie who has been playing management sims for 20-odd years - I feel that I've seen everything this game has to offer in ~2 hours total playtime.
Recommendation
I recommend this if you're looking for an easy business simulation game to kick back with for a few hours, or really want to run a food truck. I don't recommend this if you were particularly interested in decorating or cooking, if you want a crunchy-ish business sim, or if you're looking for an artsty indie game. June 25, 2024: This is an awesome "just one more day" kind of game. There's a variety of settings you can use to make the game easier or harder on yourself. You get to choose your starting character (with different unlockable perks), the game speed, the difficulty of the menu, how busy the pitch you choose is... And when you get more trucks (or get loans to get an extra fast!) hire managers to make even more money for you too. The developer clearly cares. Pennies per hour I already feel like I'm getting more than I paid for. The demo got me addicted and I can see so many "just one more day" sessions in my future! June 30, 2024: Just popping in another note here to say that this developer is amazing! Not only did they implement several suggests made by other people and myself, but they went to the discussions posted and let us know that things had been added! I'd give them extra thumbs up if I could. Also extra, extra bonus thumbs up for replying here and not forcing Discord as the only option of contact. I bought the game here and I don't use social media. Thank you developer for respecting that! July 21, 2024: In an update a few days ago they added a few really awesome things. Now trucks can be edited from the garage! No more having to play with a truck for a day to set it up before putting a manager in charge of it. Filters for just the menu items on the current truck rock too. April 17, 2025: My only thumbs down is this new limited time egg event. I've managed to find eggs on eight of the maps, but the ninth is not loading properly and I've bug reported on the forums. (I don't have and will not get Discord.) Where the heck would a tenth one even be if there are nine maps? I'm not a fan of these kinds of events at all because they rely on being turned on at a very specific limited time of the year... :( April 20, 2025: The patch fixed the issue I was having with a truck not loading on the Aspenwood map. There wasn't an egg on that map, but it was still nice to have a fast fix and be able to use it again. :) I am finding even on the easy managers customers don't seem to have the same patience they used to, so it's not quite as chill. It's admittedly been a bit since I played last so I may need to figure out what I did before...
