Developer abandoned game back in Dec and I asked over and over why. I truly wanted the developer to fix the game and respond to players. Instead, the reply the dev gave below shows the level of maturity here.My original point was proven. Talking about me personally and getting hurt and emotional over honesty is abnormal. If I have 3,000 Steam games and I leave 100 negative reviews out of that 3k....well do the math. Whining also, about name changes, or other developer name dropping to boost or spin your reply to an honest review, is also abnormal. Mentioning Steam employees, escapades of tattling, and letting the world know that you may have financial issues....is abnormal. Im only being honest, if devs dont like negative reviews they need to not scam paying players by saying one thing then doing another. Red flags are things like not doing updates for ages, not responding to players or yelling at them for asking questions. I simply tell it how it is and expect adults who make games to accept it like adults. Adults should not act paranoid over money and sales on Steam and then publicly announce that they are hurting for money and their sales are being damaged. That is a strange way to act. I am not trying to be too hard on devs, just see alot of this sort of thing and it gets old real fast. So to be attacked on a personal level as shown in the dev's reply, gives more credit to the truth. I do think that taking offense to being referred to as HE constantly.....is a valid feeling. Being a woman and all, I have asked this developer nicely to not refer to me as HE. Dev knows I dont appreciate it and still does it. Yet I am described as a hater and troll? I am not the one reporting daily to Steam that a paying player who left a review, is hurting the feelings of a dev who abandoned a game. So, it is what it is then. Players have to accept a developer who will tattle over and over if they dont like a review. Well, I am sorry I caused so much emotional pain on a gaming platform, over an honest review......for a game that costs a dollar or so.

It might be a bit janky at this point, but man this game hits that sweet sweet 8bit retro spot and it's literally only a $0.99 and mine was even half off of that, so an amazing bargain.
SoR:TSC looks like it really came from the NES, plus it's got some absolutely BANGING chiptunes as well! I thought the game was crazy hard at first, but getting used to the mechanics wasn't that tough after all and (by sheer luck?) I managed to beat the first real boss after ~1,5 hours. Gonna dig through the rest of the game when I have the time, I just wanted to post a review quickly since there weren't that many and I really think SoR:TSC needs some more attention! ;)
Definitely waiting for more updates, great job Blueace Studios!

Considering the current version and price, it already delivers a good experience and nostalgia from the 8-bit games era, even though it's in Early Access. It offers a good level of difficulty, requiring player mobility to stay alive. The art style used for the characters is excellent. I could even venture to say it's an emulation of a genuine NES game. It's a game just like in the old days.

The Good:
*Charming pixel perfect visuals.
*Nice upgrades(or items, as they are called here). They have very interesting mechanics on each of them.
*The retro musics are very good.
*I loved to fight against the big skull boss.
The Bad:
* The amount of items is not great, but seeing how the developer is very active, I believe there will be more items to make the gameplay feel more diverse.
The Ugly:
*Well, its NES graphics... this can be a good thing or not.
