their idea was good but the execution just never felt fun. yeah i didnt play much, but my truck would get stuck and kinda glitch out and act weird, where in previous games it felt like i could get out of almost anything without recovering.
the turning radius is abysmal and makes tight areas not fun

Don't know why this game receives such a reviews. Stop comparing it with Snowrunner, it's just different. Enjoying it every moment.

First review ever, but felt necessary as there were many negative reviews. Played Snow Runner and still do. Loved it. At first I hated this game like everyone, but now there's really nothing like it and i play it when I want to escape for a bit. I actually like it much more than Snowrunner now.
It is a very different game from snow runner in many ways so I couldn't compare the two. This is probably why so many dislike it.
There is just something here about the discovery of a new route and the path finding that I can't find anywhere else. It is one of my favorite games... The updates added some necessary mechanics that make the game better when charting the drive on the map. Some of the menu controls are still hard to figure out on the map, but they have continued to improve it.
Bringing the right tools to recover a vehicle saves hours of time and FRUSTRATION. I am glad they have continued to polish the game and I do look forward to future content.
It isn't for everyone and I have been very frustrated more than once, but there's something about this game that is so satisfying.

I love expeditions! Its a rock crawler game and patience is the of the game. If you are a speed demon this game is not for you.

Network coop completly unplayable due to bugs. Missions on singe somewhat ok, but headquaters game mechanics suck a lot, I hate trying to prepare for somesying unknown with money penalty for retry.

TLDR: can be complicated and annoying; it's worth it
Mission design, user interface, vehicle upgrades, and controls can definitely take getting used to and are still annoying after so; however once I learned how it worked, I like this game so much more than snowrunner. With more complicated terrain and "scout-centric" missions and much better physics/vehicle damage hit boxes, it'll be awhile if I switch back to SR from this.

All your trucks are deleted off the map after every mission; this is the intended mission structure and is completely untenable, ruins the game. Some map markers stay as question marks after discovery. Many such basic issues remain unfixed, 11 months after release. Not a worthy successor to Snowrunner.

Okay guys, this does not deserve a 56% positive overall, this is actually a really fun and entertaining game it’s like the temple of doom of the runner series it tried something different and I think all you Snowrunner fans took that personally, while I do think Snowrunner is better this is also fun, I feel like it’s a lot more scout based which is a good thing for me personally, but selecting a mission in a menu is less engaging then in the map screen thingy, oh and there are actually bugs that I encountered but not many and not gamebreaking.
Okay that’s pretty much it, bye!

I know it is a spinoff, but I will still give it a thumbs down. It is lacking the great feel of the other Runner games. While controls are similar, the missions feel more like shores and the map feels more like an instance. Overall I did not feel like I was exploring, more like I was running groceries and errands.

If you liked Snowrunner or Mudrunner, this game is not for you.
It does have nice graphics and the maps look nice, but unfortunately those alone do not make a good game.
While the game has a lot of similar vehicles and the tire pressure thing is nice, I feel the game is let down by a few things.
First, the price is unjustifiable. In Snowrunner, for $40 you get three maps, many choices of trucks, and complete freedom of where you go, what you do, how you do it, and so on. In Expeditions (for $55), I find it more restrictive and it doesn't seem like the game wants you to just do what you want. Also way less vehicles to choose from.
Second, it's lacks any of the maturity of Snowrunner. For $55 I basically get a mobile game with better graphics. That's it. It's like someone stole the soul of Snowrunner. Weird menus and HUD, maps feel weird, rocks feel like ice, etc. There's plenty of reason why nobody flocked to this game and the mixed reviews speak for themselves.
Lastly, the game is very repetitive. Now, I know the game is scouting-based, and some Snowrunner players like this over the cargo-focused atmosphere of Snowrunner, but man does it get old quick when its basically all you have to do. Go here, do that, find this, go here and back on the exact same path, etc. I find the "Hmm, I could take this road with this vehicle or this road but this one is muddy whereas this one is hilly, and this one has a gas station, but this vehicle is underpowered but I could also try this one...." you know, choosing what you want to do and how you do it, is completely gone, replaced by "well I can use this truck or this one."
Overall I feel the game is okay for those who like scouting exclusively and hate cargo, but for most people this will be a pass. Save your money and play a better game like Snowrunner or Mudrunner or Spintires.
