A relaxing game for people used to playing fps (I primarily play cod) and wanting to dip their toes in a casual/cozy genre.

This game is about an hour long and it's pretty fun. the story was nice, i was pretty interested in our lil eldritch buddy and the world had a lot of interesting potential but i would have loved if it was fleshed out more The main character talking is so so so good i love his lil noises. Adorble It's kinda bare bones and I can't tell if i just missed tonnes (if so, i have no idea how to find the extra content) or if i did play it to completion? There's a lot of houses on the map that I wasn't able to ever interact with because they didn't get any mail so it felt a little confusing. The gameplay loop was a bit samey too It can be buggy, there was a few times where the day would start and the world wouldn't load in so i'd have to reload my save lol The combat is incredibly minimal. There's tons of health and even the last boss doesn't do much damage so it feels incredibly low threat. Also, up until the last level you can walk past every enemy without bothering to engage so if you wanna just run through and not bother with combat it's very doable the whole game was building up to a festival and then you didn't get to see the festival so that was pretty disappointing Overall it was fun, the story and world had a lot of interest and potential but i felt let down by the fact that it wasn't really fleshed out much. But if you're looking for something casual and short this is a pretty nice option

My Experience I picked up Keep Me Posted in the hopes that it would provide a cozy experience like A Short Hike or last year's Smushi Come Home. Although these games lacked particularly intense combat, they provided rich and interesting worlds to explore. The combat in Keep Me Posted is more intense than most of what you're doing in either of the aforementioned games, with success involving the creation of mailsack combos and the Postmaster (your protagonist) having to deal with ranged enemies that often begin hitting you from off-screen. I found the combat to be a bit tedious, which was not something I was looking for in this type of game - a game that the developers themselves describe as "cozy" multiple times in the description. Although the stories that the Postmaster becomes involved in seem to be somewhat compelling, I wasn't motivated enough to push through the combat and see them to their conclusion. It felt repetitive to take the same routes over and over and yet again plow through these respawning enemies that weren't even enjoyable to fight in the first place. If you're looking for something with a cozy vibe, I might recommend one of the two games I mentioned in the first paragraph. For my money, A Short Hike is still the best lightweight/chill game out there.

It could have been a cosy game but it was quite frustrating for me. I think this game tries to do two things that are not compatible, or at least not like that. That is fighting and having a heartwarming experience. I don’t really understand what is the public that the game aims for. Being a casual player that like cosy games I am not good at fighting using combos against monsters that follow me. 3 different combos for different effets, one being healing. What if I want to heal without having to fight 2 monsters at the same time? I can’t use the decor for that unless I go back to where I started. I don’t even know if there is other ways to heal because I die too quickly. Why do I die so soon? Because on the steamdeck the buttons are too tricky. I changed them a little to add the button Q which triggers a combo, but I am having difficulties to use the buttons AND the mouse (even if I put it on the joystick). For example I placed my hero but the monster comes at me and then I use all the buttons trying to get the combo to heal but I have to move because there is that other monster that shoots towards me, but because I moved the first monster change positions and now I am making a combo on thin air while being demolished by the monster, wait I have to move again because of the second monster who throws stuff at me, and then while I change the cursor of direction I am being killed by the first monster. Not really really relaxing. I didn’t even get to the first letter delivery so I have no idea if the game is giving good vibes. I also have to add that the tutorial is sadly unskippable and with too many messages. Before changing my Steamdeck layout I had to go to the keyboard just to push « enter » everytime. A button that is not used otherwise in the game. Space or E could have done the job I think. So for me it was not a good experience but I have to say that I can feel the love given to the production of the game and that’s gold. Edit: What can be changed to make it a better experience for people like me? One possibility is reducing the damages inflicted by the monsters and giving the possibility to heal more easily for example.
