Incredibly fun game, with many upgrades to be made as levels get harder and harder. Really good art and graphics, as well polished. 10/10

Who is this game for? The start of the game is incredibly easy and slow, but halfway through the first set of levels the difficulty spikes massively. The ship is too large to avoid the many obstacles on the narrow levels. The ships gun is slow and weak which makes killing the new enemies that show up take far too long. It can be upgraded but the high coin cost means that it's still too weak to dispatch enemies before they move off screen. And to top it off each level starts with the ship at only 1 heart of health - one mistake and you're done.

Sadly it's going to be a no from me. Here's why: -The levels are a bit claustrophobic between all the enemies that spawn in and the obstacles you have to avoid. Add to the fact that you move so dang slow. It makes it extra difficult to maneuver when the enemy bullets become a lot more frequent. Would do wonders to widen the flying zone a bit! -Your starting stats are horrible. 1 Health and super low Weapon Damage. This game should definitely be 2 Health to start or at least more frequent heart drop spawns. You generally collect about 60-110 coins per level through out the entire game, BUT the cost of successive upgrades continues to increase drastically for each one. Because of this, your stats can't keep up with the difficulty increases in the levels so eventually you'll repeatedly hit a difficulty wall and you'll have to go back to the first 6 levels and grind them multiple times for coins to buy more upgrades to make the latest level feel fair. Grinding in a SHMUP??? Not good. -The upgrades. There are 4 upgrades: Ship Upgrade, Shot Power, Pixies, and Pixies Attack Speed. There is no explanation to what the upgrades do or how much it changes your stats. If you do the Ship Upgrade, you can get more health but you wouldn't notice this at first because you don't get another heart until you've upgraded it twice. It also adds and, I believe, increases the damage of the side guns (and faster shots??) but not the main gun itself because then that would be the Shot Power upgrade (which it took like 3 upgrades into Shot Power for a noticeable difference in damage). I had no idea what Pixies were; I found out, after blindly putting coins into it, that they are little bug looking things that orbit your ship and shoot homing missiles at the nearest enemy and each upgrade adds another Pixie. Then Pixies Attack Speed just makes them shoot more frequently. Being that coins become less and less valuable the more you upgrade and progress through the game, you want to make sure you know the bang you're getting for your buck. -There are different drops from killing enemies that do the next step up for the above mentioned upgrades which can be actually super helpful. The only issue is they don't drop nearly as frequently as they should for a SHMUP and they are completely RNG based. You play the same level twice: one time you may get each upgrade dropping multiple times, one run you won't get a single drop. Definitely should be tweaked a bit considering upgrade drops are a staple of the genre. -Speaking of RNG, the last boss is SUPER RNG heavy dependent and doesn't really give you enough warning time to react to what's happening mainly with the many lasers. -Two main enemies that were just bad, the winged eye enemy that just chase you around the screen and the pink eye things that shoot 2 lasers. The first, you move so slow it's so hard to get away from them and if they get behind you it's most likely unavoidable damage since you can only hit backwards with the pixies so unless you have them super stacked you're taking a hit. The second, they are commonly placed where you can't shoot at them to kill and they stay on the screen until you've shot them down. They shoot at the strangest angles. I couldn't tell if they aim at you or if it was RNG but their shot direction had no bearing to where they were facing so it was so hard to dodge their attack especially in the extra claustrophobic levels where they often pinned you into traps from everything else in the level. Like I said at the beginning, I don't like to down vote games because this could have been a decent shooter/bullet hell. Ultimately though, the above really hindered my enjoyment of the game. If you have the desire to give it a shot, perhaps at least knowing what I mentioned above can help you with your own playthrough! Go for the Ship Upgrade first until it's like a 4 before spending points on anything else! Then maybe get at least 2 pixies.
