The art is good, the music is good, gameplay feels terrible. Too Much time waiting. Wish more enemies and the character had more animations.

Hands down, one of the best underrated platformers I have ever played. So much love went into this game and it shows! The creator is also very kind. He found me streaming his game and I had a wonderful conversation with him while playing!! This game is worth every penny.

my original review of the game was about how i enjoyed it and it was one of the games i liked doing the speedruns of. then the new version came out and the game was ruined. no more speedrun tactics, new auto scroller style levels that eat inputs so there's no consistency and an overall death to the charm that was this game. review changed. such a shame.

Moments a brilliance, but not without many small flaws. This little indie game seems to want to emulate the games of old, and it really captures some aspects of those games. Controls are similar to games like Mario, but it just doesn't feel quite as tight. I found myself struggling when I would try to jump immediately after landing, which only made the Battle Toads-esque section more frustrating. The game isn't very difficult, so it's easy to look past most of the control flaws. The characters hit box seems a tad "off" as well, which makes the protective bubble power up all the more frustrating, but I'll get to that. The enemies, and bosses, are your standard side scroller fare. They're mostly brainless, and just waiting to have their head stomped on. Nothing groundbreaking, but they're fine. There are a few small sections that mix the game up a bit. There's a boat section, which really made me think of Battle Toads or Bit Trip Runner, and a plane section. In my opinion, both had their flaws, but I still liked those little breaks from the main gameplay. Graphics are fine, the game looks like what it's attempting to be. The enemy designs are nice, and I wish they had added more variations. Sound is pretty incredible. This game has a solid soundtrack, sounding a lot like something Anamanaguchi would make. There's only one real power up, which is a bubble. It protects you from damage, but only enemy damage. You're on your own with the spikes and buzz saws. It also will randomly pop if you get too close to an enemy, and sometimes even if you killed it. There is a mode for speedrunning, but I can't help but think that it was an afterthought. The game just doesn't feel like it was meant for that. There are often long gaps of waiting for obstacles to get out of the way, even at the start of levels. I'm also not sure why they didn't omit the story aspects from the speedrun mode, they only slow everything down more. While much of my review is criticism for this game, it's still not a bad time. It's only a few dollars, and I'd say it's worth a shot to play. You can tell that a lot of love went into making this game, and my review isn't meant to discourage the developer. I would be interested in future titles that the developer puts out, because they could make really good platformers. They just need to put some more time into it.
