Xibalba is a Game that is basically Trying to be Doom or Castle Wolfenstien and it' just not..
The Game has a load of Problems from the Level Design to the Enemy Design (Mainly Their Color) to the Color Palette basically Being about 2-6 colors, The Damage System in which you basically die in about three or Four hits no matter what difficulty you play it on. I will end with this: It's a Unity Game. Unity has a Negative reception in the Gaming World for a reason I don't know what I expected.......

No Y-axis inversion in an fps. That alone is worth a thumb down. Additionally, the few settings that are there won't save between levels, means that motion blur and other settings have to be disabled every time a level starts. Weapons and the crooked player model clip through walls and objects and enemy placement, or spam, and level design don't feel very thoughtful. Sorry but at least some effort is needed to find customers.
Edit: 31/10/2021 = Still no Y-axis inversion
Edit: 9/06/2022 = Y-inversion has been added in an earlier patch but the Game is still bad though

I'm not sure I can recommend this. About a quarter of the way into the game, everything becomes bullet sponges. And there's no save functionality that I could see, other than restarting the level, so it stopped being worthwhile to slog through it and, like another commenter, I started taking advantage of the weird level collision + floating jumping to pretty much speed-run through the latter two thirds of the game. Some of the jank kind of feels like... the game was made in Unity by someone who maybe doesn't entirely know how to use Unity. Also, some of the sprites look cool, but often don't seem to properly receive light from the baked level lighting, so they look like black blobs unless your flashlight is on.
I will say that the levels looked pretty for the most part, and I do like the overall aesthetic. If you get it on sale or have some time and money to burn, and enjoy jank, it is relatively short, and you might have fun with it. Otherwise, maybe skip this one.

A different setting from the usual and some pretty interesting enemies are ruined by a lighting system that makes you see most things in completely black silhouettes most of the time.
As for gameplay, the sponginess of a lot of the enemies is ridiculous it's like most enemies that apear after the first few levels has the health of one of the Doom bosses.

I like it, reminds me a lot to Serious Sam but that's a good thing, have an interesting looking using 2D and 3D with the enemies and the levels , I enjoyed very much and for sure the game can improve with the time.

Quite hard to recommend...
For the 1€ price being asked while in sale and if you can embrace the jank I would say it's worth it.
Only if you like old school non stop action type of games like Doom or Serious Sam and know that you will have to speedrun and avoid all the ennemies in the later levels.
XIBALBA is terribly balanced in later levels it must be a joke, all ennemies are bullet sponges, there are way too many and they take way too long to kill.
In fact it gets so damn unbalanced to the point I ended up bunny hop speedrunning the latest levels because it's just impossible to kill everything.
I had fun in the first few levels not so much in latest...
The two shotguns and the bow are cool but all the other weapons are complete rubbish in my opnion and not worth using unless you run out of shotgun shells.
In this game there is also a lot of collision issues, it's easily possible to glitch out of maps or cheese the ennemies projectiles because of the invisible walls.
Game tested and finished in about two hours in normal difficulty FYI.
Again I only recommend it at a very very low price and still not sure if I should XD.
