At the moment im a bit neutral. It's an ok game could have more improvements but for $2.99 it's not bad. My main complaint is the character design and the pronouns especially since most people just skip reading because they want gameplay.

I like the idea of this game. I think in the future can develop to be better.
music, soundtrack and picture was great.
The controllers is too hard and weird. I need to setting by myself.
About the guide when it's untrack is still hard to find.
Mini map is hard to look. It's only appear location's name but no details
I will review more if I play more than 2.5 hrs

Unfortunately, I'm also getting the bugs that make the tutorial impassable, and when I went to reload it had not autosaved yet and so I'd have to start the game all over again. Oh well, I hope they circle back and fix the bugs because they seem pretty significant to basic gameplay, but the game is so cute and I love me a fishing game.

Anyone else getting Lego Island vibes from the graphics? Time to relive my childhood memories :D
Honestly, I just had to come here to give a positive review because this is the first cozy fishing game I have actually enjoyed. You are tasked with helping to rebuild a dying coastal town. You wander, chit chat, fish, cook. This game has a bit of everything. And it takes place on the eastern coast of Canada. Bonus points!! And no glitches for me on the deck.
I got this game for $3 and it feels like an absolute steal, so give it a chance!!
This is exactly how I envision a fishing game to be... zen and chill. No pressure. Just me, the open waters and my lego pieces.

Moonglow Bay is a beautiful game with a really fun story, and I really genuinely enjoyed MOST of it. With that said, the controls are FOUL, the tutorial and help through out the game play is even worse. I have never in my life pulled up google more during any game I have played. The second boss makes me want to rip my hair out to the point I had to forever quit the game. I got a good 8 hours in but it's not worth the headache going back. Not to mention I spent an hour of that trying to figure out what I was even supposed to be doing when it came to the boss. I finally had to dig through a forum to figure out how to beat it and I still couldn't. In all fairness I bought this to enjoy a cozy game, and I have never enjoyed boss fights so I'm sure anyone down for a painful and tedious challenge would love it.
The story is there, the graphics are there, the cozy cooking and fishing is definitely there, but without a walk-through for how to beat the boss, the controls, and general lack of bug fixes I could not in good conscience recommend this game :(

Pretty fun overall. My main complaint is that the keybinds are a fucking nightmare and it's not allowing me to change or add any, though there does appear to be a system in place to add/change them so it may just be a bug not allowing me to do so. Even with the bad keybinds it is still pretty fun for a slow pace relaxing game.

Poor mouse/keyboard support that makes it hard to enjoy the game. Tried playing this twice since this is the kind of game I'm normally into, but quit both times.
Hope the input gets overhauled because the game has great potential!

I really hope this game can recover from the review dip, because it is genuinely a real gem now (if still a bit rough around the edges).
You play as an elderly character dealing with the loss of their partner. Your adult daughter is in town to help you with moving on by assisting the town with their big centennial festival. You open a seafood streetfood shop to raise money, which also leads you to investigate the mysteries plaguing the fishers of the bay.
The game offers a wide range of tasks:
- Rod fishing
- Net fishing
- Trap fishing
- Line fishing
- Cooking
- Exploration
- Photo mode
- Cleaning up trash in the sea
- Tasks for the townfolk
- Providing townsfolk with their favourite dish
- Renovating the town
- Boss fights (more puzzles than fights, which I like)
Early on, the game gives you almost complete control over how you want to allot your time. Lots of tasks can be done in parallel, there's always something to do. A lot of the gameplay is dexterity-based button pressing, though. I found the timing of these tasks very generous overall, but it's not suitable for everyone.
What the game does NOT have:
- Farming
- Ranching
- Breeding
- Crafting
- Fighting
- Mining
- Decorating your house
- Romance
- Complex friendship
(I didn't miss any of these aside from more decorations. I found it relaxing to not be in charge of absolutely everything for a change. :D)
I really thought the repetitive cooking minigames would annoy me, but to my surprise, they didn't. They were just interactive enough to keep the lizard brain occupied while the rest of my brain could chill in a hammock. I liked the different tools, and the mastery system to unlock new recipes is cool. Unlocking every dish is a ton of work though, but you only need that for the respective achievement.
The game features unlimited inventory right off the bat, which is a blessing for a digital hoarder like me. Sadly, it lacks some QoL features on this front, but it's not egregious.
Time runs on a day / night cycle, but without seasonal mechanics. You can pass time faster by sitting on benches, reading in your nook, or sleeping. You can sleep anytime and wake up in the morning, in the afternoon, or at night. Sometimes, time is slowed to a crawl for story events. Cooking doesn't take up any time.
I experienced a couple of bugs, but I never lost any significant progress or had to use the emergency teleport. If your boat gets stuck, you can call an in-game tow service, and the save system is incredibly generous. You can save almost anywhere / anytime and the game autosaves after sleeping.
I can't say anything about mouse/keyboard, but playing with controller was perfectly fine.
I'm not the biggest fan of the blocky artstyle in general. But the animations are incredibly fluid and done with a whole lot of love. The fish models in particular are super quirky and cute. Checking out the aquarium displays is something you should definitely do. And later with the line fishing, the models really have their time to shine.
You have a dog, and you can pet it.
The soundtrack is nice and never became grating or repetitive.
There is a co-op option, but I haven't tried it.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this game. It's definitely worth full price, I got ~40 hours out of it and haven't gotten 100% yet.

Spent 30 minutes trying to leave the first home after the tutorial. Looked everywhere for a solution yet 3 years with no advice to fix this.
However, I found the fix myself.
I turned anti-aliasing off, changed to windowed mode, and turned V-sync off. This allowed me to start moving immediately. I've seen many people with this issue! Please try these before refunding!
